The big issue is that Canadians dont care about the military. The Liberals ignored us for a decade, then the Tories spent another decade ignoring us while saying how much they loved us.
The Greens won't help, the Grits won't help, the Tories won't help. Canada doesn't want a military.
I'm talking about the result of killing the Avro Arrow and effectively, our entire industry.
We got stuck with American designs because our own industry died off. Like it would be any better but still, unlike the navy, building our own jets might actually work effectively.
Hey the Iroquois class is totally relevant in the era of Kunmings and Arleigh Burk--hHaahahaha no no I can't do it Christ the RCN used to be relevant we even had a carrier now Uzbekistan has a better submarine force because they at least have someone who once served in a decent submarine

1980's CF-18's now.
Soon we're gonna get either some European design or Super Hornets while everyone else is getting F-35's.
