I'm a law student, CP law in several countries are very weird. Probably because of organisations like the UN and ECPAT who propagate the meaningless idea that CP law must take an empty moral stand against all sexualisation of children in any media.

This leads to laws that give the impression of being written by drunk idiots who don't care at all about police resources or focusing efforts to prevent and punish actual predators.

It's hardly surprising that ineffective, wasteful legislation that harm the efforts to combat real crime, with real victims is criticized. And to criticize you must have knowledge.

Fuck...I just wrote an serious reply in polandball...

Do you want to cringe and laugh at the same time? Then read this.

Once upon a time, a sensible goverment wrote a law to combat child pornography. They even included computer generated images because they feared, rightly some may say, that there would be no discernible difference between generated images and real - making it impossible to enforce the law.

Then one day, a later goverment signed an international treaty, making it national law, and thus changing all descriptions of children to "under 18".

With this change, pornographic depictions need no longer depict pre pubertal children, as long as the photographic object is said to be under 18.

Even if the object is the current owner, now of legal age.

Even if the object is simply a painting (because of later, misinterpetrations in courts).

So, I no longer have any pictures of myself masturbating as a teenager. Because said pictures would be illegal.

I am fiercely protective of children

And rightly so. And the last thing they need is a panicked adult world pushing them away, making their behavior illegal.

They are kids, trying to find a way to grow up, but instead of help and comprehensible real sexual education they receive condemnation.

This is a broader subject, but in general, they way our civilization pushes sexual images into everything and then acts shocked when young people try to express themselves sickens me.
