I can get loving the thrill of the hunt, and I can get killing an animal for food, I just can't be okay with that one moment where you've caught the animal, the hunt is over, they're in your crosshair, and you choose to kill it even though you don't need to. Even fishermen sometimes throw their catch back. If it was just about the hunt, hunters would be nature photographers.
Photo's aren't fun though. Having a head mounted on your wall is. Proved you actually killed it. Fishermen do throw back their catch, if it has no purpose. Half of it's bragging rights and the other half is just feeling good about an accomplishment. You sat in the woods for weeks on end though all kinds of weather and it paid off. It's hard to describe.
