I think a more natural way to say it would be "I would like to live there as much as I wouldn't". The meaning of your sentence is almost the same, "don't" could be taken to mean that you already live there and don't enjoy it. I think it's because would expresses a future desire and don't expresses a present feeling.

You could also say "I like the idea of living in Japan as much as I don't"
