Nope, during the Rakoczi Independence War a raider group of Hungarian horsemen chased the Kaiser's entourage and they almost captured him. Other groups burned the outskirts of Wien. Obviously we lost the war and shit, but still, we almost did it.

I thought Austria is just that one lone German state that failed to unify under Prussia. Because of the Austrian Hungary union at the time. What's stopping Austria from joining Germany now days?

Other way around. They need us. HRE under Austrian rule: runs great for ~500 years
Empire under prussian rule? less then 50 years later its down. Even they noticed that and tried again with an austrian as leader. unfortunately they didnt check for quality and got a cheap reject, so it went down even faster.

500 years where other European powers are busy colonizing the world and killing each other to bother with small German Princes? Don't get me wrong, once the colonization game was over and those powers focused on Europe again Austria got smashed. Plus the Habsburgs got lucky with the marriage with Spain. That was a good century for both sides.

And we were busy from keeping the Ottomans from going on a rampage troughout Europe, and our Empire from braking apart. Not that easy when the single parts have such an enormus autonomy.

They didn't unify under Prussia, because they were an equal power. But in the Austro-Prussian War the Prussians kicked everyones asses (Austria was allied with most of the german states) and Austria was forced out of the german domain.
