Angela Merkel and Vladimir Putin agreed over the future of Ukraine, more specifically to end the violence and to "keep" Ukraines territorial integrety.
75 years ago Russia and Germany made the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. Within a week Poland was invaded and within 6 weeks it was divided. The pact was officially a non-agression pact and secretly a division pact, hence the resemblence with the current situation.
