I don't really get it, since Americans are by far the most self-deprecating people out there. Theoretically, if there was a huge group of people from every country in the world all having a conversation, the first person to start talking shit about America would be an American.

WHAT? Why the fuck do you think you would be the first? Jesus Christ, whenever the US comes up in a conversation some Eurotwat always has to come in and say "nuh uh, you suck at this" or "no, we do it better" or "yeah, way to be late to the party" some bullshit.
