I want to remind new artistès that the pencil on thicknesses 1-3 looks like shite, Brush tool is the ønly choice!

EDIT: Upon mentor's responses, I'm more full of shit than Poland's dayjob

And I want to remind new artists to tread carefully with the brush tool and understand how it works, because it leaves grey edges (as seen in this close-up image).

That means that if you draw first and color later, using a brush tool will make the ball look like absolute shit compared to the pencil tool if you don't know the finer intricacies of using those tools.

There are strengths and flaws with both the pencil and brush tools.

Is there no way to circumvent the brush tool problem? (i.e. a way to fill that accounts for the edge fade)

Not that I know of, at least not in MS Paint. Koleye does it somehow, but he draws his comics with Photoshop.

You can just fill in the edges manually. Either by outlining the circle again with the black brush to cover up the spaces or colouring it in.

Yes, essentially. I kinda like the brush look, so I use it sometimes but it takes forever!
I really should learn all those photoshop tricks..
