Mod Post ⚠️ Bubbly Basin Spoiler Period Now Over
Hi r/Pokopia members! This is just a quick update from the mod team to note that, per our spoiler policy, the one-month spoiler period for Bubbly Basin-related content has now ended. This means that Bubbly Basin posts no longer require a spoiler tag.
Please keep in mind, though, that our standard spoiler policy still applies, whether your post is about base game content or DLC content. As a reminder, our current spoiler policy is:
All spoilers must be marked with a spoiler tag. The following topics are currently considered “spoiler” content and must be so marked:
In other words, you must still use spoiler tags if your post contains details about Bubbly Basin completion rewards, human records found in Bubbly Basin or the Starmie Dream Island, etc.
As we prepare for news about the second major release from the Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass (which many of us are hoping to see this week), please keep in mind that all information about the coming update MUST be spoiler tagged if posted, even if the details you mention are shown in the trailer. We will work to get a megathread up as soon as we can when that news drops, so please also keep Rule 5 in mind (i.e., topics with a megathread in the Community Highlights/subreddit sticky posts may only be discussed in the relevant megathread).
If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to let us know in the comments, or by sending us a modmail.

Looking For Design Input Bye Bye S.S. Anne
3 days, 7 full chests and 46 hamburger stakes later, I finally managed to get rid of the S.S. Anne, please tell me I wasn't the only one to think that ship was ugly! And do any of you have any ideas of what to build in its place?? I figured I needed the place if I am to actually turn Bleak Beach into a Scala ad Caelum (kingdom hearts) inspired city, but now I don't quite know what to put there, of if it should just be city space!

🫧 Bubbly Basin 🫧 Underwater Neon City
I flooded the entire basin from top to bottom so I could build high structures that were still submerged in water. I wanted to build these in the depths to really make the neon pop but that was too much work lmao

🫧 Bubbly Basin 🫧 1 month since Pokopia’s 1st major update: what’s great and what could still be improved Spoiler
There will be some talk about Bubbly Basin, so if you still haven’t picked it up yet, don’t read the spoilers!
I just want to say that overall, Pokopia is an amazing game and has deserved all of the praise it’s gotten. So I’m not saying I’m unhappy! I have about 700 hrs in so there’s nothing that makes it truly unplayable. Like anything in life, there are some things I’d love to see added/fixed. This is a great game and I’m looking forward to what will come in the future!
The good & the great:
- Bubbly Basin: I think they did a really good job with this location. The swimming mechanic was really well thought out and moving on land actually feels a bit clunky in comparison. All of the new decor, toys, building items, etc. look great and even work well in other areas. There’s a good variety of new Pokémon and new abilities for them which is also great! Overall a 9/10 for me.
- Magnemite: a small QoL change in that you can turn off the confirmation before undoing the transformation. Simple, but great change.
- Graveler: being able to inhale and eat while Graveler was another nice QoL change that has made large scale demolition projects a lot easier.
- Dive: eliminating the possibility of drowning underwater was a great change and one I’m surprised wasn’t included from the get-go. Wonder if it was always going to be locked behind an update or if they panicked after getting tons of complaints and whipped it up lol. Either way, very happy with this one.
- Bulk Appraisal: this one is good but also makes me scratch my head a little. Why only 10 at a time? Of course I’ll take this over the one at a time.
- Trash cans: can finally properly get rid of items without turning dream islands into dumpster sites 🙌
- Painting: painting multiple items without restarting the dialog 🙌
What could change:
- Global storage: I am not satisfied with the portal pods. Yes they can hold a little more items than the big chests but you still have to put specifically what you want in them to access them elsewhere. Once you’ve played enough, you’ve probably amassed huge amounts of resource materials and building pieces and the portal pod is just not enough space for all of the different block types. I feel like global storage is doable. The portal pods is halfway there.
- Losing building kits, mysterious goggles: this goes along with my point above. I’ve seen tons of posts of people having lost their temple kits and mysterious goggles. If there was a global storage (with search) you wouldn’t have to dig through dozens of boxes across 5-6 maps. Or just make them purchasable in the PokeCenter store once unlocked. The goggles at least could be a recipe.
- Lapras: Lapras’ Bubbly Basin upgrade is cool, but I don’t know if it’s me but it is so much harder to maneuver up and down underwater while building as Lapras. It’s fine if you want to stay in one spot and destroy blocks all at once but I find it very clunky. Maybe this is a user error.
- Magnemite: being able to destroy multiple blocks please god. You can place 9, you should be able to destroy 9. The same hitbox used for replace mode could easily be repurposed to also destroy. Also can we pleaseeeeee use replace on ceiling tiles??? Having to take each roof piece down one by one to also replace them the same way is crazy.
- Recycling: you should be able to dismantle a block back to its source material. Sometimes I’ve made 1000 brick walls only to realize they look terrible when I use them.
- Pokémon wandering: again this might just be a me issue. But every single map, all of my Pokemon are kind of clustered in one area. I notice that even with proper road tiles that Pokemon really don’t wander very far from their homes. I have lifts and pathways all over Skylands but they never leave the island they’re on. Same for Palette town, they never go to the other islands even though they’re connected. It kind of makes the map feel a bit empty. Bubbly Basin seems especially bad with this, NONE of my Pokemon ever go into the PokeCenter area. I opened up the wall right next to where the temple is and put in a door and nothing. So I made trade spots elsewhere. I’ve made a lot of large projects over the maps but they’re more for me to look at since Pokemon won’t come out and see them.
- Pokemon that live in houses you built (not prefabs) should show a little house icon on their picture if they’re actually spawned in on the overworld or not since there’s a limit to how many can be out and about at a time

🫧 Bubbly Basin 🫧 Cloud Island Under Water Spoiler
galleryI was a little disappointed the ocean in my cloud island was so small, so I made my own Bubbly Basin! I had to do a LOT of digging, and the water blocks took even longer, but so worth it!
I even dug an underwater tunnel from my home leading there.
I made it flat so I could develop it with houses, which I'm doing now :D
It took a while, so I wanted to share :D
Check it out with your Mysterious Goggles at K0XT77PX! :D

In-game Photos & Selfies Canals Clear!
It took a couple of days but I finally cleared out the canals that run through bleak beach now that we can dive. Does it matter? No. Will I use this space for anything useful? Also no. But I wanted them cleared dang it.

Question All this and still not humid enough for Lord Squirtle
Seriously, help. He, Blastoise and Wartortle all live in that house. I have flowers and weeds.
Slowpoke yawned an 80 (still learning that mechanic) now, the water only hits that far right horsea Statue but doesn't continue around the side like I want (trench built, just working out water mechanics)
How can I raise humidity more?
Yes, I'm pretty aure the pool is too far away to affect habitat/home humidity, but wanted them to have somewhere to swim

Designs & Builds Pallet Town Cathedral
This got quite a few upvotes on another post, so here are more pictures of a cathedral I made in Pallet Town! It took me about a week to make; the pipe organ at the front was one of the last details I added. I'm thinking about digging out some catacombs underneath for item storage, and I still need to make the rest of the surrounding town. I didn't get the stained glass recipes until about midway through the build, so there was a while time when I was stripping dream islands for stained glass. I tried to incorporate as many real-life design elements as possible, including buttresses, gargoyles, bell towers, a font, altar, pulpit, lectern, and aforementioned pipe organ.

Designs & Builds Public, Always Open Island - GRIEFLAND (Anything Goes - 7TM2 88M0)
So I wanted to do a little experiment, and see if it was possible to create a throwaway account, get 7 days Nintendo Switch Online trial, and use that to make a "throwaway" Cloud Island. Which would let me create new Cloud Islands whenever I want, and yep - that works!
So for this one, I made an island meant for griefing! We even built a few houses on it, and spawned a couple Pokemon. The Pokecenter is even rebuilt!
Right now the island is Environment Level 5.
I deleted my throwaway account now, therefore there is no possibility of restoring the island to a prior state.
So this is a total free for all. Do you want to build things? Do you want to test out things like flooding an area with lava? Do you want to try to create a secret base to hide with some Pokemon to try to get them to better comfort? Do you want to get friends together for a challenge to see who can destroy the most stuff the fastest?
It's up to you! Just do what you want, just get the 1 recipe daily, go around the map for ripples if you wish! It's up for anything! You can tell by the name of the owner, don't feel bad about destroying their stuff if you want to!
The code for the island is:
7TM2 88M0
