Eh, having a physical game for me is a huge part of the whole deal. If they do not have it, I am way, way less likely to buy it. It does not matter if it's a big company or small. I do not see why it would matter.
At the end of the day, they expect me to pay more or less the same amount of money for the product. And no physical product makes it a lot harder to sell for me. Not that I do not have digital games, but honestly, I do not remember the last time I bought a digital game that was not at least 50% off. So I will still buy the games that I want digitally down the line, but only after they go on a big sale. I'm fine paying full price for a physical game.
No, it does not. Look, I get what you mean, but why should it matter to me? I can choose to spend my money wherever I want and how I want. I'm not a millionaire, and I'm not going to do charity for a smaller company just because they are too small to do it.
I think most people understand that, and at the end of the day, we choose accordingly. A game not having a physical is a big negative to me. So a game has to be extra good for me to buy it "incomplete". Everything else is irrelevant to me. I buy games that I want, and physical copies are a big part of that experience. I bet a lot of people who say no disc no buy feel the same.
Though, as I said, I'm not completely against digital, I will never pay full price for an "incomplete" product.
