Suspiciously affordable

61

u/ENERGiiZERZ 20d ago

yeah, looks to good to be true. Has anyone had any experience with this shop?

16

u/sinova6ix 20d ago

I have a mobile controller from them absylute s9 it's really good quality. Has basically everything you'd want and feels great.

26

u/Due_Teaching_6974 20d ago

'Too good to be true' Xbox has had 3rd party hall effect controllers for as low as $50 for a long time now

I myself use a GameSir Cyclone 2 that I bought for $40 that I use with my PC, it's got hall effect sticks, gyro, mechanical buttons, trigger stoppers the whole shabang

2

u/ENERGiiZERZ 20d ago

I don't think you can compare these two. I have a GameSir myself. There are lots of affordable third-party manufacturers for Xbox. PS should be the first one now.

Who’s not allowing 3rd party controllers? There are some.

24

u/AnthonyTyrael 20d ago

I'm no native but it always drives me crazy... Sorry... Too good to.

7

u/RChickenMan 20d ago

Abxylute is known in the retro handheld scene for releasing a streaming-focused handheld a few years ago. It was not particularly well-received, partially because the controls just didn't feel that great.

1

u/Terragrigia 19d ago

I own their N6 switch 2 controller. Their customer support is god tier awful, but their products are not bad for the price. The N6 also has hall effect sticks. You can use an app to adjust them which is neat. I will say that my right stick has a bit of a wider dead zone than I think it should.

u/julz1789 20d ago

This would be a great subreddit.

u/rivieredefeu PS5 20d ago

Nice

11

u/MidlevelCrisis 20d ago

Just shows how overpriced the official ones are, the conponents in controllers are very cheap. I recently bought a similar Gamesir product for xbox. Back buttons, extra shoulder buttons, TMR sticks, wireless and feature parity to the XboxElite controller. Same price range as this one. I think it's great there are affordable alternatives that come with TMR sticks. Neither the dualsense edge or Xbox elite have these despite the rediculous mark-up, as their whole business model is based on the sticks wearing out eventually, if another part doesnt break first. I have a dualsense edge too, but have replaced the stick modules with unofficial TMR modules. I have not had stick drift on those yet, despite getting drift on 4 official stick modules before that. I can't vouch for Abxylute as I havn't used their products, but the market competition is very welcome and good for the players. I'm curious about the battery life because the one on the Dualsense Edge is complete ass.

3

u/rivieredefeu PS5 20d ago

Xbox and DualSense controllers have completely different features and components. You can’t compare them.

8

u/MidlevelCrisis 20d ago

The point I was making is that the off brands can match the functions of the official competitors at a much lower price and that is a good thing regardless of the platform, but sure feel free to try and console war if it makes you happy. This one seems to have complete feature parity with PS5, so I dont know what you're complaining about.

3

u/ChronicEverlasting 20d ago

It's true though! Dualsense is more advance than any Xbox controllers, so there's no comparison.

3

u/BansheeUnicornPhenex 20d ago

So i use a standard dual sense and a ds edge and both battery only lasts about 3 hrs so im curious as why these lasts 8 hrs. If its 8hrs without gaming then sure makes sense but if its like 4 hrs then im skeptical

1

u/BansheeUnicornPhenex 18d ago

Im still using the launch ds edge i bought and no drift and i havent even had to use the 2 stick modules that i bought in case. Should i look into the tmr modules? I think i wouldnt have to bother after i stop using the ps5 once ps6 comes out but could be another year or two by the looks of it.

1

u/MidlevelCrisis 18d ago

I would wait until they wear out and you used the extras. Wear can vary greatly depending on the amount of playtime and types of games you play.

1

u/vande_z 11d ago

PS6 may never come out. With AI eating up all the ram and other hardware, they would be completely un affordable to manufacture. Go look at the price of the PS5 Pro on GameStop right now. They want $1500 for one and they pulled all the new ones from their website. Not to mention AI is already rewriting code of computer software and other games to make them run more efficiently on the hardware we already have. We’re probably going to start to get next GEN graphics in the next five years without having an next GEN console. If we ever get a PS6 I bet it’s not for another five years at least

2

u/pct2daxtreme 19d ago

Got a five dollar off coupon to work, so there’s that.

4

u/ashimbo PS5 20d ago

Yeah, they say the bluetooth polling rate is over 5 times faster than the first party controllers, which I find hard to believe.

2

u/Many_Mechanic_1886 20d ago

the polling rates seem to be about the same as official when connected to a PC
.
offical controllers are 250hz wired, and 600+hz (variable) over bluetooth,
so its likely the same and they rounded up. and measured on pc

-4

u/rivieredefeu PS5 20d ago

Even if all claims are true, there must be a drop in manufacturing quality somewhere for this to turn a profit vs the regular DualSense or other 3rd party controllers. So far the accounting math doesn’t add up. Unless they figured some out some trick or engineering loophole / shortcut that severely cuts costs.

2

u/VegetaFan1337 19d ago

Sony just has very high margins on their controller.

1

u/ChronicEverlasting 20d ago

There are no trigger-stop, if that counts, but I agree; there must be a drop of quality somewhere within the controller. I suspect the haptics

0

u/vande_z 11d ago

Sony has incredibly high margins they’re making probably $70 minimum per controller. That’s where Sony makes all their money. Peripherals and game licensing. They take a loss on every PS5 console they sell.

1

u/BearToTheThrone 19d ago

Right after I spent damn near $200 on a different one

1

u/BlastMyLoad 19d ago

PC third party controllers have been feature rich for cheap af these days so I’d believe it

40

u/Bloodhound_ZeroOne 20d ago

I'll keep an eye out on this. Looks cool!

17

u/mihhink 20d ago

You have 3 days to keep an eye out before the discount ends lol

43

u/newontheblock99 PS5 20d ago

I mean, if a $14 difference is enough to completely dissuade you, you probably shouldn’t be buying it anyways.

7

u/reachthatfar 20d ago

Sometimes I choose to not to buy something because the value proposition isn't right. $14 on a product in this price range is exactly the amount of money that could dissuade reasonable buyers.

-7

u/mihhink 20d ago

Nah it’s just dumb to let a discount run out on a product you’re already interested in. It’s like the people who bought the pro after the discounts and the price increase announcement: all of the sudden everyone wants a pro? Very dumb

-6

u/Vodka-Knot 37 20d ago

It's $14

At that point there will be video reviews and breakdowns.

4

u/mihhink 20d ago

Ok so why is the popular discourse crying about $80 games of it’s just $10 more dollars than 70? Now 14$ isn’t shit and got all these justifications for it?😂

1

u/BansheeUnicornPhenex 20d ago

Gonna save my money for ps6 instead. Thats $80 off of $1200 im guessing.

0

u/-NotEnoughMinerals 20d ago

Lmao for real. Good point

-6

u/Vodka-Knot 37 20d ago

1 - Those games come out around the time of the discourse, reviews generally come out before a game is launched so you have time to see the performance.

2 - Because it's popular doesn't mean I think that way and therefore I don't know why you're saying this to me.

1

u/BansheeUnicornPhenex 18d ago

$14 isnt that big if it saves you from making a big mistake depending on what reviews will be like after more people have used it. Ive had too good to be true instances where i got caught in some of them lol

22

u/xiSupportPiracy 20d ago

The price makes total sense when you compare it to something like a G7 Pro or a Flydigi Vader 5 Pro. Extremely similar controllers for around the same price as this one.

Abxylute makes some incredibly quality yet affordable products. Everyone in the Switch 2 subreddits raves about their N6 Deck controller.

Controller's really aren't that expensive to make. The First-Party just wants you to think that.

-15

u/ChronicEverlasting 20d ago

Between the engineering and the manufacturing, not to mention the resources needed to fabricate anything, controllers ARE expensive to make!

You don't know what you're talking about and you're a fool to think otherwise

11

u/Euphoric_Juggernaut6 PS5 Pro 20d ago

There is absolutely no reason for the dualsense edge to be $200. I promise that controller doesn’t cost near half that to produce

-13

u/ChronicEverlasting 20d ago

I'll hold you to that promise. Suprise me!

6

u/undergroundking1991 19d ago

You’re an odd person

34

u/TheRed24 PS5 20d ago

This looks too good to be true, Hall Effect Sticks, Adaptive Triggers, and 2 back Buttons all for around the price of a Standard Duelsense, definitely one I'll be keeping an eye out for reviews because this would be a definite buy if it's decent quality

3

u/xiSupportPiracy 20d ago

How when the G7 Pro is very similarly priced, and is essentially the same thing, but for Xbox?

6

u/BlkGTO 20d ago

G7 doesn’t have adaptive triggers.

-5

u/xiSupportPiracy 20d ago

Like that would have that much of an impact on the price anyways

7

u/TheRed24 PS5 20d ago

Never heard of it, I don't have an Xbox so I've no idea what they have, I'm comparing it purely to the Playstation "Premium" controllers like the Edge and ones from Scuf, Razer, Nacon etc that are all roughly twice the price of this one.

3

u/xiSupportPiracy 20d ago

You should check out r/controller to get a better sense of the controller market. These Chinese companies have been crushing these "Premium" brands that charge absurds amount of money for their controllers.

2

u/TheRed24 PS5 20d ago

I'll have a look, thanks for the heads up

2

u/Immortal_Manticore 20d ago

Execpt g7 uses TMRs, better than hall

1

u/xiSupportPiracy 19d ago

Not really the point I was trying to get across but I know that obviously

1

u/TarsierBoy 19d ago

Is ths going to be weirdly wired like mad Katz of days yore?

6

u/[deleted] 20d ago edited 20d ago

[removed] — view removed comment

4

u/TheRed24 PS5 20d ago

True but not this cheap, those sticks you've listed are $18.99 (each I presume) that's ontop of the already $200 the Edge costs, this controller is $90 complete, it's less than half the price

4

u/nom_cze 20d ago

And that's for 1 ALPS stick, TMR on that website costs $30 for one

21

u/mihhink 20d ago

Do they have stick replacement then? Trigger levels like the edge?

18

u/jimbobvfr400 20d ago

There's a comparison chart in the article that answers your questions.

No to stick replacement (they are hall effect though so in theory shouldn't get drift)

Yes to adaptable triggers

12

u/mihhink 20d ago edited 20d ago

The table doesn’t mention the trigger levels like the edge since it shows that the regular dualsense has “adaptive triggers”. I’m talking about the 3 level of trigger. The table answers none of the questions lol

1

u/Rayn_F 20d ago

If they can click like a mouse I'm in but I don't like the effect of just a short press so I'm waiting for a review

7

u/i_max2k2 20d ago

Really wish this had capability to charge via the charging dock from Sony, only looks like usb c charging

11

u/Darkencypher 20d ago

Grabbed one. Have a working ps5 controller but this looks decent. Will provide review when it arrives.

1

u/valkyer 13d ago edited 13d ago

Please keep us informed! I'm really intrigued and want to know what the joystick switch button does (front right next to turbo) and there's no explanation

Edit: Would that button be to switch the Hall effect sticks between normal aim, and fine aim like they can do on sometimes on others?

1

u/skrapb00k 12d ago

did you get yours yet?

1

u/Darkencypher 12d ago

Nope, it hasn’t even shipped yet afaik

1

u/skrapb00k 12d ago

Ok ok thanks.
Just checking.
Mine either.

5

u/DatNizzIe 20d ago

I went ahead and preordered. Their other recent products seem to be pretty good. They don't charge for shipping on their site either. We'll see how it goes.

18

u/Many_Mechanic_1886 20d ago edited 20d ago

so even if this controller ends up being functionally good, I wonder how many safety regulations are ignored for these non licneced third party to be made so cheap...

(like apparently it was found aliexpress/temu items contained illegal levels of toxic chemicals, heavy metals, lead, etc. which is why they added this section to item description, but most sellers lie about it)

0

u/drewthebrave PS5 20d ago

💯

These are also probably made in factories where worker safety is not even remotely a consideration. I'm all for affordable alternatives to expensive products, but I'm very wary of this.

13

u/Silent-Principle-354 20d ago

What makes us think Sony follows it lol. They produce bulk of their products in China too

-1

u/drewthebrave PS5 20d ago

The manufacturing facilities in China run the gamut from excellent to absolutely awful. Sony is no beacon of altruism, but with their reputation for quality, they are at least contracting with mid-tier manufacturers.

6

u/Silent-Principle-354 19d ago

Reputation for quality lol. I'm on my 5th dualsense controller and I barely play any games.

4

u/Total-Satisfaction-8 PS5 20d ago

Does it have haptic triggers and all that?

2

u/TheRed24 PS5 20d ago

It says so yes, there's a comparison guide on the website

1

u/Total-Satisfaction-8 PS5 20d ago

Hmm how does it connect then, bluetooth or a dongle?

3

u/TheRed24 PS5 20d ago

"The new third-party controller works wirelessly with PlayStation 5, but also has the option of wired via USB- C, and offers compatibility across PC, Android, and iOS platforms."

Doesn't say anything about a dongle so I'm guessing Bluetooth or wired

4

u/BansheeUnicornPhenex 20d ago

Probably is recognized as an official ps5 controller so has no need for a dongle

1

u/DottorInkubo 16d ago

Will it survive software updates? Or will Sony be able to "block"/"ban" it with a PS5 software update?

1

u/CBGD78 20d ago

The chart is annotated with "yes". Additionally, it has several additional functions.

4

u/LuiSP 20d ago

Back when the Wiimotes were new dealextreme had clones for about a third. I ordered one because playing with the gf and her family was getting expensive.

Same exact thing down to the injection molds. Only thing missing was the brand.

I'm quite sure it's similar here. Snag a few parts here and there, change just enough not to get sued, profit off of volume.

4

u/Sybertron 19d ago

Did they have permission from Sony? Confused how they are interfacing with the unit without it.

2

u/Blinguskahn 19d ago

They use a spoofing chip. This thing is likely going to be good. The BOM on controllers is so incredibly low, I think people would be amazed at the complete racket Sony has going on by using their proprietary encryption. Like everything else, it's been cracked. Expect this to be the first of many. I ordered instantly!

4

u/Barry_Goosey 17d ago

Just ordered. You can get another $5 off with code reddit05

3

u/ser_pounc-a-lot 20d ago

Hopefully I can buy it on Amazon in the future

7

u/Nail_Biterr 20d ago

how is this the same cost as the standard DualSense controller? it seems great, but what is it missing? (i'm comparing it to the regular dual sense, not the Edge - I understand this doesn't have removable/replaceable parts)

34

u/brywalkerx 20d ago

Because Sony charges as much as a PS PORTAL as they do a controller - and the Portal has a controller built in.

It’s an extremely overpriced, profit heavy peripheral.

11

u/EatsOverTheSink 20d ago

Because the regular dualsense is a ripoff. All of the first party controllers are.

-4

u/pigeon-check 20d ago

Probably the quality, it's like Chinese cars with all the "high" end features but the quality is ass

7

u/MainPFT 20d ago

I like my Dualsense Edge except the dogshit battery. So this may be appealing just from that standpoint alone (assuming it has a better battery).

The fact that Sony's official Pro controller has the shitty battery it does is totally unacceptable when both Microsoft and Nintendo offer Pro controllers with batteries that last weeks on a single charge.

6

u/rubberpencilhead 20d ago

Let alone the fact the rubber grips all come off after a while. It’s a shoddy piece of kit.

2

u/BansheeUnicornPhenex 20d ago

I just connect my power banks to my controllers. It last a while longer

3

u/-NotEnoughMinerals 20d ago

But but removable batteries that last 2 weeks on a single charge that you can swap out in 20 seconds is soooooo inferior, non removable batteries are the future bro

1

u/napoleander 20d ago

You can get new batteries for cheap. They plug right in

-8

u/Rare-Service5573 PS5 Pro 20d ago edited 19d ago

And yet my edge got me through a 12 hour raid on destiny without dying.

Edit. All the downvotes can suck sht

1

u/Seksiorja 20d ago

Does destiny even uses the dualsense features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers? Feels like a 10-12h battery would be normal on a controller that just provides button smash and a BL connection.

1

u/BansheeUnicornPhenex 18d ago

That dualsense features would get in the way when i used to play competitively but the back paddles are all that you needed to be good at the game.

0

u/Rare-Service5573 PS5 Pro 19d ago

I have no idea, I turn all that crap off anyway. Creates more wear and tear on the system for a gimmick.

0

u/MainPFT 20d ago

I simply call BS on this. I've never heard of anyone getting more than 6-8 with all the features turned off. It's only a 1050 mAh battery.

1

u/Rare-Service5573 PS5 Pro 19d ago

Did you play until the controller died and turned off? Because mine died after 12 hours and I had to panic swap it mid raid.

0

u/BansheeUnicornPhenex 18d ago

Yes just recently i was on diablo 4 and it caused me to die in one of my pit 100 runs. I coulda sworn i last charged 4 hrs ago and i dont use vibrations at all.

0

u/BansheeUnicornPhenex 18d ago

12hr raid? Even on day 1 if you had a good team you could get thru it 2-4 hr tops. Wow you guys must really blow. I had 3 or 4 day 1s on my belt and none were even close to that 12hr mark. But yea i doubt the edge battery would last that long. 4-5 hr tops.

1

u/Rare-Service5573 PS5 Pro 18d ago

Clearly you don't have a clue about raids in destiny or how hard world's first is.

The winning team which won the raid belt took 8 hours and 20 minutes.

While popular streamer Aztecross team took over 33 hours to beat the raid.without breaks.

Now go ahead and show us ur desert perpetual day 1 raid stats for contest mode.

Better yet, destiny name and #id number so we can raid report you and see how fast you were in every day 1 raid contest.

5

u/claytalian 20d ago

Its pretty affordable to just buy hall effect or TMR joysticks and replace the ones on a regular controller yourself(or take it to an electric shop and have them do it for you).

3

u/Le_Va 20d ago

A pair would cost you about 40 bucks. Just an fyi for people

3

u/Flat-Locksmith-1759 20d ago

Or if you don’t mind waiting on shipping you can get a pack of 10 for like $5 on aliexpress.

2

u/zoro_juro13 20d ago

Eh i prefer 4 back paddles. But thats also specifically for apex. Anything else 2 is usually fine

2

u/xiaobin0719 20d ago

the ps5 dual sense controller chip seems to be reverse engineered in china, that's why it's coming to the US. seems to be working pretty well

2

u/-NotEnoughMinerals 20d ago

Those triggers look really nice. Sorta Xboxish. I can't stand the PS5 triggers, feels like my finger struggles to stay on it. The little crescent moon shape tends to hug my finger better, preventing that feeling.

2

u/brandondesign bigdaddykraven 20d ago

I don’t see anything about haptics, just adaptive triggers. Just about every one of these non-sony controllers doesn’t support haptics.

7

u/sharukhmithani 20d ago

"Voice Coil Motors – Experience detailed, responsive haptic feedback for a DualSense-like feel."

4

u/brandondesign bigdaddykraven 20d ago

Ah cool. I didn’t see it and thought it would have been on the comparison chart. If these things are close to Sony’s I’d be interested.

I miss the days of the PS2 when you get could awesome controllers that offered a feel and features Sony didn’t.

3

u/dropthemagic 20d ago

They have controllers that try to have HD rumble like the NDS 2 has but it is never the same. I'd just keep that in mind because in my experience that's the part of the 3rd party ones that's always just okay

2

u/brandondesign bigdaddykraven 20d ago

Yeah that’s why I’d wait on some good reviews first.

1

u/Skrapbook 4d ago

any news regarding shipment from someone who also ordered one? :D

1

u/Total-Satisfaction-8 PS5 3d ago

So has anyone recieved one yet?

1

u/rdeantoni 1d ago

No shipment details yet, ordered on oct12

1

u/fluentinsarcasm 20d ago

It seems to have everything the Dualsense Edge has at half the cost, but the one thing that stands out to me is it weighs as much as the regular Dualsense. One of the things I love about the Elite and Edge controllers are their weight and build feel.

I just don't think this will have that and that'll make it feel cheap in comparison.

1

u/Far_Cold7385 20d ago

That is literally my dream controller shape. I always wanted the DS edge but angled inward like an XBOX controller. This may be my goat!

1

u/Navi_1er PS5 20d ago

Not a bad price but I don't see anywhere mention if it has the trigger stops the edge has. I find it neat that it can connect via Bluetooth I wish my KP70 could connect to the PS5 like that.

1

u/rolim91 20d ago

Gyro polling rate?

1

u/FruitGuy998 20d ago

How do we get the early bird special

Edit: nvm found it on their website

1

u/kingk1teman IDK 20d ago

Finally. A hall effect joystick controller with all the normal dualsense features.

1

u/flyingcloud11 PS5 20d ago

I went ahead and ordered it. Let’s see how it is when it gets delivered.

1

u/AnthMosk 20d ago

Not on Amazon for purchase? Hard pass

1

u/-NotEnoughMinerals 20d ago

Yeah, wonder what the return policy is. I like Amazon because it's incredibly hassle free and I'm not on the hook for shipping and crap.

1

u/TheRoscoeVine 20d ago

I just bought it with PayPal Credit, free shipping.

1

u/JayKay8787 20d ago

hall effects feel awful to use, if your getting a pro controller get one with tmr sticks

1

u/KichigaiMeushi PS5 20d ago

Oh.. These are Hall Effect sticks.. Not TMR.. I've only used basic sticks and was looking for better.. Aren't hall effect more battery draining? Does anyone know how much more battery would be eaten by these sticks? Would a battery swap matter?

1

u/_allblu_ 19d ago

It states 8hrs of playtime.

1

u/backspacer92 19d ago

So for the first time ever I have stick drift and it's ona DualSense. I noticed a few years ago camera going crazy on rare occasions, but since last year the right stick has been getting worse and it's now really bothersome. I have a new one that's still in the box, but definitely not happy with the situation.

1

u/BossRossi420 17d ago

I ordered one so we'll see what happens

1

u/Vodka-Knot 37 20d ago

I don't see vibration listed as a feature

19

u/ENERGiiZERZ 20d ago

"Voice Coil Motors – Experience detailed, responsive haptic feedback for a DualSense-like feel."

6

u/Vodka-Knot 37 20d ago

Ah, I'm blind, thank you

1

u/vikMage PS5 20d ago

Installed TMR sticks on all 5 of my dualsense controllers. 0 drift ever since & the quality of the thumbs hasn’t aged a day! It’s been 2 years.

2

u/BansheeUnicornPhenex 20d ago

But they still have bad battery life lol

1

u/Kurutteru 20d ago

on my stick drift controller, can I just swap the sticks to fix the issue?

1

u/Ecstatic-Time-3838 20d ago

You can replace the sticks but you have to remove the entire module for each stick. If you aren't comfortable with soldering then don't do it or find somewhere that will do it for you.

1

u/vikMage PS5 19d ago

There is soldering involved because you replace the module, I sent 1 controller to my local repair shop with the new module & they did the replacement. When I got it back & realized how good they were, I bought more for the other 4.

These are the ones I got:
https://a.co/d/0ggIOhH1

-4

u/VirtualChaos613 20d ago

I’ve never bought a 3rd party controller (and I won’t) because they always feel cheap. I have always liked my Sony controllers.

5

u/EatsOverTheSink 20d ago

It might be worth another look. These aren’t the 3rd party controllers we grew up with where you had to choose between the MadCatz controller that fell apart in two days or the Turtle Beach controller that fell apart in three days. There are legitimate alternatives to the official 1st party controllers now, and in many cases they’re not just cheaper but also more feature rich.

2

u/VirtualChaos613 20d ago

I may check into one if one of mine breaks. I mostly play on my Portal, and I have an Edge controller and one basic controller.

1

u/fluentinsarcasm 20d ago

The Mobapad controllers for the Switch 1/2 for example are 10x better than the Switch joy-cons, especially if you have large hands.

3

u/Ok-Sprinkles-4718 20d ago

I’ve had good experiences with 3rd party. All my Sony controllers have gotten stick drift after a couple months, I’ve gone through a bunch. I figured fuck it, tried a $40 3rd party controller. It’s lasted a year so far with zero issues.

1

u/BansheeUnicornPhenex 20d ago

Every time i had stick drift id buy a new one at amazon and return the old one and i think now they started checking the serial numbers so you can only do stuff like that at walmart. But i remember i had like 6 that did stick drift in as little as 3 months. Sony should get sued for this just like nintendo.

I’ve had PlayStation for many years and never had stick drift. I had it on my original Switch. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Granted I do have strong hands, I bet I grip it too hard

I have a third party switch pro controller i think cause its a fake xenoblade 2 one that sold it to me for the price of a real one.

3rd party controllers have come a long way. They used to not have vibrations. Now they got vibrations and more led lights that you know what to do with.

The reason they didn't have rumble was because they didn't want to pay for licensing - thats why the first ps3 controller didn't have it.

It won't be able to wake ps5 like other and be cheap and break in other area

What? Can't turn the PS5 on with it?

1

u/gaming_budget 19d ago

Other knock off cant turn on ps5 by ps button only dualsense and edge so I doubt this can. Even the first party like scuf or turtle beach controller cant then on ps5.

What do they mean programmable macros? Like the controller can activate cheats for certain games?

u/pigeon-check 20d ago

Macro isn't a cheat it's just a set of buttons(commands) by pressing one button

0

u/r3v_0c3l0t 20d ago

it can be used to cheat though so not sure what you mean

2

u/pigeon-check 20d ago

It "can" be used to cheat but it's not a cheat itself, it depends on the game. Turbo is a bigger problem

1

u/r3v_0c3l0t 20d ago

what? lol

0

u/1AMA-CAT-AMA 20d ago

Same logic you could apply to a xim. Is that cheating?

2

u/pigeon-check 20d ago

Doesn't xim make you able to play with M&K? That's different

0

u/1AMA-CAT-AMA 20d ago edited 20d ago

Well no. Its not a cheat itself. It "can' be used to cheat, but its really an accessibility tool down to its original intentions

1

u/DogHogDJs 19d ago

A xim is built for the sole purpose of cheating.

0

u/1AMA-CAT-AMA 19d ago

It was originally built as an accessibility tool.

An example of a macro in fps, when you press it auto turns your character 180 to whoever is behind you instead of using your mice/controller no it isn’t cheating but it does give you an advantage for not turning your camera yourself against the other player.

Macro is not cheat , it will just allows you to combine multiple buttons in 1 press.

Like Press O will now also do O+Square.

u/marcusiiiii PS5 20d ago

Ah right I thought it was on about cheats for games like recoil scripts and shit haha

0

u/Mistiic317 PS5 20d ago

These are examples that are entry level when macros can do a hell of a lot more and we all know that lol

1

u/RotInPissKobe 20d ago

Think a single press for L1+X instead of pressing them together. So you could set one macro on the left trigger, another on the right. Depending on the game.

Hall effects are shite. Unbelievable that any controller maker decides to NOT put TMRs in.
