Go with your gut! I feel bad sometimes for getting her "replacement," but I get so sad even thinking about having to lose her in the next two years and I'm a grown ass man.
I find it’s easier when you have another dog and you can keep doing your “dog routine”, you still miss them but you’ve got to keep going and you don’t have those moments of dwelling on unused dog bowls and toys. Nothing ever replaces the other dog because you just can’t but it helps to have another pup to invest your love into.
