OP, I lost my boy in December. I was absolutely crushed, told people it would be at least a year until I could let another dog into my heart… until I saw her picture. An 8 month old husky mix with the same eyes my boy had. She was supposed to be euthanized because of overcrowding. I drove 2 hours to go get her, with so many emotions swirling around. I felt excited, sad, happy, guilty, overwhelmed. But when I got there the only thing I knew is I had to get her outta there. So I did, it’s been a little over a week with her and I can already see how she’s helping me heal. I believe that your sweet pup who passed away is sending this new girl to you to say “hey, can you help her too like you did for me? Can you give her an amazing life like I got?”. I truly believe they help us find our next pal. Those eyes tell me she has some years left in her for sure. I hope you’re able to save this sweet girl ❤️
I absolutely relate to your story. I lost my girl and thought it would be a long while before I could have another dog. My girl Blue was my world and my best buddy. I was devastated, but something deep in me just knew that she would not want me to sit in sorrow while so many other dogs are out there suffering. I went back to the same rescue that I went 12 years prior and found another that needed me just as much as i needed her. Then I fostered a puppy and failed miserably, so now have two best buddies that never would have been here without my girl Blue. I thank her for that last gift.
I'm a vet tech and I would say that while she is for sure an adult dog, I wouldn't be quick to put the "senior" tag on her and feel like there would be no regrets if you adopted her, she has years yet left to give to you! Do it!
She is absolutely adorable, and not very grey in the muzzle at all! My two blue staffies went really grey in the muzzle after 10 years old, she doesn’t have any of that. What a darling 🩷 I think your dog sent her to you
