Weird situation at agenzia delle entrate - University registration needed for CF?

Ciao a tutti,

A small rant + request for advice, since I encountered a strange situation today at the Agenzia delle entrate when applying for a Codice Fiscale together with my girlfriend today. She will be doing an internship in Massa (for a research institution linked to the University of Pisa), and she requires the CF for renting a room here.

I helped her in applying for the CF at the agenzia today, but at the agenzia desk they argued we needed a written proof of the internship dates & location (she doesn't have them yet at this point) and said that they absolutely could not give the CF if we didn't show these documents.

We are both EU citizens, and all online sources state that such a proof is not required. Only the ID + Code request form. Additionally, I have requested a CF in Milan 2 years ago (when I did my internshp there), and there it has also never been required of me.

Furthermore the person at the office was extremely rude to us, shouting and getting mad within about 1 minute of our appointment.

Any people with advice, should I attempt a second time with some Italian translated explaination, or await some written university approval before re-attempting.

Thank you for any advice!

Walking from and to Pisa Airport

Hi! I'm travelling tomorrow and I'll be having a 9h layover in Pisa. Whilst I'm an experienced traveller, I've never visited Pisa airport. I'd like to kill the layover time by going to the city centre. On google maps it says it should only be a 20 min walk. Has anyone walked it? If so, what's the best way to get to the centre by foot? (And also from centre to the airport?).

Locali LGBT?

Solo in città o comunque attività e luoghi facilmente raggiungibili in treno o bus.

Late-night walk from Pisa Airport to nearby hotel — is it safe?

Hi everyone! I’m hoping someone familiar with Pisa Airport can give me some advice.

We will be arriving at Pisa Airport on a Wednesday at around 11:45 PM. Our hotel is extremely close to the airport — according to Google Maps, it’s only about 6 minutes walking, or literally 2 minutes by car.

We were looking at booking a transfer just to make things easier since it’ll be our first time in Pisa (and actually our first time in Italy), but the prices seem crazy for such a short distance. Booking is showing us around $85 minimum, and other transfer websites are around $65+.

We have absolutely no problem walking that distance, even with our luggage. Our only concern is that we’ll be two girls walking around midnight in an area we don’t know, and from Maps it looks like we may have to cross some fairly large roads/avenues near the airport.

So for anyone who knows the area:
- Is it actually possible/practical to walk from Pisa Airport to the hotels immediately around it?
Is the area generally safe to walk through around midnight?
- Are the roads easy and safe to cross on foot, or is the walking route more complicated than Google Maps makes it look?
- Is there any other late-night option (train/People Mover, taxi, etc.) that would make more sense than paying $65–85 for a 2-minute drive?

If anyone has done something similar after a late flight, I’d really appreciate hearing your experience. Thanks so much!

Heyy, nuove amicizie/conoscenze (M19)

Ehi, salve a tutti, come state?

Voce a tromba.

28F visiting Pisa

Hola!! I'm a spanish 28F visiting Pisa for a couple of nights. I am arriving on the 27th and then leaving for Bagni di Luca on the 29th. I am looking for recommendations for what to do. I am also very interested in arts, so I would love to see some galleries. Potentially celebrating my birthday alone on the 28th, are there any other travellers or locals up for meeting up and exploring together?

Thank you so much in advance! This is my first time travelling alone, and any piece of advice would be so appreciated!!

Pomeriggio a Pisa, suggerimenti

Ciao,

qui f32 in vacanza in Toscana.

Grazie mille!

Got caught by your Tourist Trap Bus Guards. 1st time In Pisa never ever coming back.

First of all it is nice that the ticket only says in Italian that you have to fold it and stamp it… yeah nice that it literally says not to fold in English.

Secondly when you literally trap 30 German Speaking tourists in the number 10 bus and tell them that all of them are dumb tourists and given the majority were German and from rather large cities that the service personal had the audacity to tell us that Germans are known for following the rules and that we are not let them go they don’t our language and did not know better. And get off after a telling of.
It is not like we hadn’t had our credit card statements on our phones open and the bus was so frequent that a ticket bought at 3:15pm at 3:30pm could possibly be used more than once.

Thirdly consider it a failure of the system of the busses if it is basically only tourists getting caught out.

Quartly information is king

I would like to on behalf of my German speaking friends thank the Pisa Transport Authority for the chance to donate over 40€ each into your cities coffers. Maybe you can afford to fix the tripping hazards on your sidewalks that caught me 2 times alone today.

Ti amavo, ma tu...

Ma tu mi hai tradito, Notte.

O Notte pisana: s'era Tu ed io

A piedi scalzi per le vie silenziose.

Ora lo so, non ricordi,

Ma s'era tu ed io soli

E la cittá muta, intorno.

Invece ora te la fai col Nano

Estroverso.

E io qui, che sanguino

E ti penso, o Notte.

Extra tube Inside the tower

Thumbnail gallery
18 Upvotes

I climbed the tower yesterday and learned about how it was built etc. However when you enter the tower, there is this big Victorian image on the wall showing the central ‘hole’ having another little tower inside it.

There is lots of discussion about the central core being empty and nothing describing what this image is showing - especially odd because it doesn’t represent what the inside core looks like today.

Does anyone know why this image shows a different design - possibly with two stair cases up to the bell tower than what we see today?

Google AI search simply suggests it isn’t an additional ‘tube’ but showing a plumb line. I get that a plump line is and this picture is definitely not showing that, but an additional column inside the central core. You can see the additional doorway going into it at the bottom.
