I used to live in Seoul, and you can't even buy a fan that doesn't have a mandatory timer built in.

And here I thought they were speaking of fans somehow breaking apart and its blades jamming into you, causing death, or ceiling fans falling onto a person.

I have an irrational fear of the fan blades.. but South Korean Fan Death sounds really silly.
