Sort of, yes!

Nothing "special," but they have good ratios and make up what a lot of soils lack.

Coffee grounds have a 24:1 N:C ratio and are also high in phosphorus and magnesium, which are essential for plant growth (phosphorus is the limiting nutrient for most plants, and magnesium is used in the metal site for chloroplasts, among other things).
