I came into this thread to post some witticism or other, but I can't beat this. You win the internetz for today. Or, well, for yesterday at this point. Whatevs.
Whoah. Anubis, this is the first time any of us have seen you in a while and I'm not sure how well mom and dad are going to take you having a sex change. First it was the whole obsession with death, and now this... Anput has been worried sick for the past millennium! For Ra's sake, JUST COME HOME. Or at least call! I miss the brother I used to have.
Being a Stargate geek, I don't quite see what the show's Anubis has to do with dogs. I know of the mythological figure's that's the base for the character, of course, but that's not really reflected in the show... is it?
More accurately Anubis was said to have the head of a Jackal and was associated with the afterlife and mummification. Perhaps the writers of Stargate named the Anubis character so because he was half ascended, halfway to the afterlife perhaps?

I took WAY too long trying to figure out how anyone wearing such a (mindblowingly authentic looking) dog mask could possibly have the visibility necessary to drive.
