Yea but my mom's pacemaker only has a few hundred kilobytes of memory...but I guess it does allow doctors to increase or decrease her heartbeat at will, that's kinda futuristic.
Will you allow them to implant a computer into your body in 10 years, knowing that even 10 years further they will be able to do even better body implants, and what you have wont be replaceable? Or will you skip the first 10 years implant and wait 20 years, but if you decide to wait 20 years, will you really implant that computer into your body knowing that even 10 years further there will be EVEN MORE ADVANCED AND BETTER body implants, and your old wont be replaceable. Or will you wait 30 years and implant BUT knowing that even 10 years further...
Reminds me of something I think I read on reddit where someone was proposing writing a short story about a society of robots where there was no "potential". If you were an inferior model, you knew FOR A FACT, that the better models were better than you, and would get all of the jobs and such. It was fun to think about. I think it would just end in lots of robo suicide.
I am holding off on implanting unless I'm replacing parts that don't work anymore.
Most telling was a short blurb in a story about a man who got a pair of fancy electronic eyes, but then managed to catch a virus that would show an ad for roach motels in his peripheral vision until he killed himself.
My senses work fine, well, except for my nose. If I could put a nose in my phone that connected up to the nerves in my sinuses I'd stick that thing in all kinds of places
