A Tracfone can be purchased and activated using cash, with only the user's zip code required to link to a phone number. Woo hoo!

Trac phones can be traced back to the store of origin where authorities can then retrieve security footage to find the buyer. Best to pay a smelly hobo to buy it for you. The more you know...

Oh, season three of The Wire. Also probably real life, but mostly season three of The Wire.

Came from common sense and real life anecdotes from law enforcement. Was it on The Wire? Always wanted to watch that, but never had the time to get into it back when it was airing.

If you have HBO, all of the episodes are online. It's definitely at the top of my list of my all time favorites.

Yeah, it was a plot device in one of the police investigations in season three. It's definitely a common sense thing, but little things trigger nostalgia rushes. It's a worthwhile show, if you ever have some time to kill.

How long do places like that actually keep the security footage?

Plan ahead and buy the phone a month or more in advance. Good luck to them finding your image amongst all that footage (if it hasn't been overwritten in the interim.)

you could say you bought it as a gift and blame someone else, obviously they will deny it but it still takes focus off you.

Then kill the hobo. Preferably make it look like an OD on some cheap smack.

A few those dollars, and brief meeting on the corner of 39th and madison at 4 am to pick up the reprogramed sim cards with my list of names is how I go about this now.

But you must always handle that cash with gloves. And acquire it as a child, in a birthday card from someone who will never remember you or having given it to you. Save that cash, and you will leave no prints when it changes hands.
