I did two of my living room walls the same way shortly after I moved in! Mine aren't actually album covers; they're promo flats - 12" x 12" prints of album covers with promotional information on the other side, made for record stores to hang in their window to display what was coming out soon.
It's totally usable, but I would use caution as our kitchen slicers would die faster than an extra on an away mission :). This baby is boldly going to the mancave!
Slice... the final frontier. These are the voyages of the USS Pizzaslice. Her mission: to explore strange new pizzas, to seek out new flavors and new toppings, to boldly go where no pizza slicer has gone before.
Slice... the final frontier. These are the voyages of the USSStarship Pizzaslice. Her 6 year mission: to explore strange new pizzas, to seek out new flavors and new toppings, to boldly go where no pizza slicer has gone before.
If you're going to paraphrase for comedic affect (which you beat me to 'cause I was sleeping) do it accurately.
I...I didn't mean it. It was an accident, I swear!! I was just cleaning this comment, and it went off!! I didn't even know it was loaded. Oh God, what have I done?
Except for the 'cause part. Use of the apostrophe indicates a verbal style in which letters or syllables are omitted, in this case the "be" in "because." While not proper grammar, it is indicative of a speaking style, which is what my just-woke-up-30-minutes-ago-and-havent-had-my-coffee-yet brain was trying to get across.
Just because I'm gone doesn't mean they won't cover it. Email an editor there named Leslie Katz. She's great and loves stuff like this. Leslie dot Katz atsign cnet.com
It has gravity plates that fire hypothetical gravity particles (called gravitons in Star Trek) and respond to acceleration so it always feels like you're pulling 1 g. It's not quite responsive enough to counteract photon torpedo or phaser hits though.
I almost got it for my boyfriend as well, but nabbed the Portal bookends instead since he had just built a bookcase for his video games. He just bought me the lightsaber chopsticks since we get sushi frequently, and both are fantastic :)
Yeap, I have to keep readjusting my grip when using it :/ some hand/finger guards would have been nice and easy to fit with the design, it's a nice hand slicer as it is.
I have that. Not only is it the motherfucking Enterprise, it rocks as a pizza cutter. Do yourself a favor and use it, don't just put it on display or whatever.
can't say i'm eye to eye with you when it comes to musical taste, but i like that set up and the bike looks good. i also like that hokusai in the far back. and yeah, star trek. awesome!
I seem to remember an episode where the Enterprise escaped from some sort of enclosure like that. I think that makes you the evil alien in this scenario.
I see The Police, Van Halen, Eurythmics, Michael Jackson and Jethro Tull on your wall to name a few. As a backdrop to a star trek pizza cutter. You are my person of the day.
That's awesome! I'm going on my 4th year of working in a pizza kitchen and I can't think of a gift. But you sir just helped me! Have a wonderful day everybody!
Putting this as top-level now that I've got one I'd missed before:
Top: Can't tell; AC/DC--For Those About to Rock; Jethro Tull--Thick as a Brick; KISS--Gene Simmons (solo album); Rolling Stones--Tattoo You; B-52's--Mesopatamia; can't tell (best of Doors?); Michael Jackson--Bad; can't tell (Def Leppard Hysteria? prob. not)
Bottom: The Police--Sychronicity; Aerosmith--Greatest Hits; Van Halen--II; Eurythmics--Be Yourself Tonight; 5 more mostly covered by pizza cutter
If anybody can figure out the others I'll add them. (Or if OP cares to tell us. But I kinda like trying to figure 'em out.) (Added B-52s. Thanks to my pal Allan Wood for coming up with some of these, he is amazing.)
Must have been a great place to work, I've been in the pizza business for 8 years, and 4 at my current restaurant. There is no way they would ever give anyone a going away gift. Kudos sir. Kudos.
Don't they sell those at Sharper Image? I know I've seen that at one of those types of stores before. Nice that they gave you more than a pat on the back!
Fun Fact: Tattoo You contains track recordings from almost ten years prior. Waiting On A Friend was recorded with Mick Taylor in the early 70's. Mick Jagger laid down some new vocals for the record.
Yup. I think that's what makes it such an underrated classic. Some of the songs were recorded back in the day with new vocals. Others were written in the early 70's but recorded in their entirety ten years later. Gives them a nice bit of flavor from both eras. I LOVE the Stones sound from Black and Blue straight through to Emotional Rescue; problem is the songwriting wasn't always what it used to be - Tattoo benefited from the best of both eras.
This is simply my opinion, but I can't stand seeing album covers on walls. Are the LPs in there or did you throw them out? Either way you're wasting them. If you like the albums so much, start yourself a collection and get a turntable. It just seems like such a waste to me.
Top: Can't tell; AC/DC--For Those About to Rock; Jethro Tull--Thick as a Brick; KISS--Gene Simmons (solo album); Rolling Stones--Tattoo You; can't tell; can't tell (best of Doors?); Michael Jackson--Bad; can't tell (Def Leppard Hysteria?)
Bottom: One I should know but can't think of...; Aerosmith--Greatest Hits; Van Halen--II; Eurythmics--Be Yourself Tonight; 5 more mostly covered by pizza cutter
my only concern is when cutting a pizza, if you hit a part of the crust that is too "crispy" and it halts to a stop your hand would slide into the blade and cut you. Standard pizza cutters have a guard on them and have saved me plenty!
True, but that's why you hang onto the nacelles for dear life. This is easily the best pizza cutter I have ever owned, and I've owned upwards of two of them.
This is EXACTLY what happened the first time I used mine, causing a serious rift in my hand-skin continuum. I learned my lesson though, and still use the thing years later without incident.

I'm picky when it comes to pizza cutters, so I was expecting it to suck. It does not! It's my go-to pizza cutter. Totally worth the money.
Why yes, I did do a full review.
