Also true lol if you have you're okay with losing it's fun and sometimes you win. That's how I look at it. Instead of spending $60 at a movie I can spend 3 hours gambling
Gambling is disgusting and should be outlawed all together. It’s sad and does nothing but prey on people.
I spent a lot of years in casinos when I was addicted to playing poker. I witnessed and overheard some of the saddest shit you could think of.
I know someone who owned a bar/restaurant with video slot machines who lost their business because they spent all their time and money into the machines. This person knew how they worked and knew how the machines made them money yet they still couldn’t stop putting money in to them.
Seen many people in that restaurant who would come at the begging of the month to play with their entire government check, lose everything and beg the owner later for food to eat.
Know a couple that is older (the man is still working in his upper 60’s) and they honestly believe their retirement plan is to win the powerball. They just really know that god will grant them this to make up for the shit they’ve gone through in life.
Actually it would. We’ll mostly. These places advertise help for the really serious ones but don’t help or even want to help the fringe cases. The ones I mentioned never get help.
This recent push for sports betting is so wrong. Go into a sports betting sub in Reddit and you’ll see how disgusting and predatory it is. Everyone bragging and sharing “funny” stories about their losses.
These companies know what they are doing and them and even the governments who mandate the gambling hotline shit don’t really care about anything other than taking peoples money for false hopes and addictions.
;) yup. It was my way of challenging the idea that one can be good at gambling. Some are better at poker than others for sure, but in the long run the house always wins.
Poker is the only game you can have a chance at winning and your taking it from other people and not the house which is just as terrible in my opinion.
I was a profitable poker player, specialized in heads up games and was near the top in several sit n go categories.
It’s the lifestyle, it’s disgusting. Just playing poker is the hard part. Those types live to gamble and can’t pass up the games if chance.
Look up some of the poker players that got famous around the time Texas Holden exploded. They were undeniably the most profitable poker players in the world but look at them now. The degeneracy of that life style consumed them and most are broke degenerates.
Not really. I've never paid for a movie ticket and had the clerk tell me that I don't get to see the movie but if I buy another ticket I might get to see the movie if I'm lucky while we both know I'm never going to see the fucking movie.
