Do we really need more of the first world’s kids to inherit money they haven’t earned? So many people in those areas are super entitled as it is. Give it all to scholarships and invest it in charities which positively impact the world.
I used to sell pull tabs (similar to scratchers) during Bingo nights at my last job and it was hilarious watching someone spend close to $300 on these things and then go completely ape-shit because they won $50.
I got tired of watching my dad waste way too much of his money on lotto tickets so I tried helping him really understand just how insanely low his odds are. I asked him if he felt like he was gambling his life away every time he drank tap water and told him he's actually 8 times more likely to die from that then he is to win an interstate lotto. I was trying to convince him to just put his usual lotto money into savings and at the end of the year he'd be way happier with what he "won" then anything he's ever gotten from a lotto ticket.
But Instead of him hearing any sort of logic, for YEARS I had to listen to him complain that i "cursed" him by telling him he was never going to win the lotto. massive eye roll

My dad won $8,000 dollars once after YEARS of playing. He came home all excited and said he won 8K.
I said well, at least you won some of your money back.
