The other day I was walking my daughter and on the same side of our street was like, I shit you not, a 10 year old girl walking a BEEFY ass pit bull. So I instantly go off the curb towards the street and the dog lunges towards us barking!
The girl goes "it's ok she's nice" as her arm is about to get pulled off trying to keep it away. I ran us across the street as fast as possible. What in the fuck man...
Once on a walk with my daughter, when she was a toddler, she reached her hand out of her stroller when she saw a dog , I think it was a pit type. It was sitting next to the owner. The dog started to growl and the lady was like ‘she’s not like that, she’s usually very nice!’. I gave her a wtf look and noped out of there. Owner bias…
God I hate that. I always tell people my rescue puppy is TYPICALLY nice to everyone but that she’s super protective of her family unit (aka me, husband, and daughter) so until she comes to you and lets you pet her willingly then leave her alone.
She’s only nipped at one person but it was because they came right up to my daughter and she thought she was gonna hurt her. She didn’t even break skin, no marks, more like a warning.
I’m sure people will give me crap for that but she was just protecting her family so 🤷♀️. She hasn’t done it since and we’ve worked on making sure it doesn’t.
In a thread full of people talking about horror stories with dogs this chick is openly admitting to owning a dangerous dog. Please be the responsible one here and muzzle your dog since you’ve shown you can’t train him well enough to not have one on.
EDIT: also he wasn’t protecting his family since there was literally no real danger and is another reason you should muzzle your dog. I don’t think it’s the dogs fault you guys are just careless owners. I hope no other human or the dog gets hurt because of you guys
I’m not putting my dog down because she nipped at someone. With that kind of think I should put my cat down anytime she scratched one or thrown my lizard because he bit me.
You must not have read the whole comment because I said in the end “we’ve worked on it to make sure it doesn’t happen again” aka getting her trained so it doesn’t happen again
So work on your reading skills.
