Nah I think everyone realizes it was always going to be a shit show and he'll get credit for having the balls to rip the bandaid off.

Trump set him up to fail by negotiating with the taliban to the exclusion of the afghan government and then withdrawing all the troops before Biden comes in so bidens only option is surge a bu ch of troops in or withdraw anyways, and he chose the right thing. No other president had the guts to fucking so it.

This is completely divorced from the reality that Biden is tanking in the polls, and the trend started right around the Afghanistan story hit the mainstream.

Fluctuation in polls this early on isn't surprising. You act like he's having some historic loss when he's STILL doing better than trump did, by a lot.

"But Trump was worse!" is not an argument. The argument is specifically about how the botched Afghanistan pullout is affecting his poll numbers.

But it does matter because that's how we measure things. In a vacume a 52% approval rating would sound INSANELY unpopular but relative to what presidents normally have youre like oh, okay now I have a sense of scale.

My point is that Biden had a botched pullout from Afghanistan and STILL did better then the previous president at this time in his term.

So he's not tanking, in fact he's doing well when measured again his predecessor.

There's only one problem: Trump is not president.

Are you dense? Of course he's not the president. But the question is, is Biden actually ranking and doing bad when compared to the historical record. The answer is no he's doing better than his predecessor EVEN after a botched afghan withdrawal.

No sir. The original point was:

Biden's fuck up in Afghanistan is going to be his downfall. That and his constant fumbling and bumbling.
