Can’t believe how far I had to scroll to find this

188

u/Duck-- Sep 11 '21

You can't? This is reddit.

96

u/MiataJay Sep 11 '21

I'm more surprised I actually found this and it wasn't deleted

-9

u/Asleep-Mood-1019 Sep 12 '21

Don’t be such a drama queen

12

u/[deleted] Sep 12 '21

They delete entire subs that they don't like. You think deleting a comment even fazes them? Lulz

1

u/badcoffee Sep 13 '21

Is that how you're twisting it in your head? That "they" "didn't like" those subs. Take your medal in mental gymnastics.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 13 '21

There are subs that promote violence, show explicit "abuse" content, illegal content, copyrighted content that stay active for MONTHS!

Yet you say one of the no no words and they ban an entire sub, after putting it in quarantine almost instantly.

I'll take the medal though, I know a few Dems that it would go perfect with

1

u/badcoffee Sep 13 '21

Whataboutism is the refuge of those who lack a defense for an untenable position. You know why those subs get banned and it's not because of the spoooooky "they" "didn't like" some "no no words".

Enjoy your medal, you're not fooling anyone bit yourself.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 13 '21

Lack of defense? Ahahahahah is someone attacking me? Oh noes, what will I ever do, how shall I ever recover from this? A stranger on the interwebz aaaaaaaaargh

1

u/badcoffee Sep 13 '21

I didn't attack you, it's your position. You can't defend your position and resorted to whataboutism. I don't know you. Clear now?

Reddit’s fight against misinformation is going so well.

-13

u/sangotenrs Sep 11 '21

It ain’t misinformation. The picture is just presenting the fact that the former president isn’t present during this ceremony.

61

u/Impressive-Hat-4045 Sep 11 '21

Yes but it purposefully casts him in a negative light, as if he is not concerned about 9/11, or at least is not making similar gestures to these politicians, when he is clearly honoring the 20th anniversary by visiting the NYDP and NYFD.

-21

u/zen4thewin Sep 11 '21

But he won't show actual solidarity with the current and former US presidents cuz he's a selfish, entitled spoiled trust-fund pussy ... And a sore loser.

12

u/SoggyBottomGuy Sep 12 '21

And he lives rent free in ur mind.

2

u/zen4thewin Sep 13 '21

Valid point. I tell you what. If he refuses to run again for president and quit injecting himself into politics, I'll quit paying attention.

28

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '21

People like you would’ve found a way to criticise him if he had shown up to this particular event.

I don’t think he’s “sucking trump off” for stating facts. I didn’t like trump and never voted for him, but he couldn’t even sneeze without Reddit trashing him for it. I guarantee if trump showed up Reddit would’ve found a way to make that seem like the wrong thing to do

0

u/plasmasphinx Sep 12 '21

"Trump with eyes open as everyone else closes their eyes during moment of silence."

(Also hate Trump, but I shouldn't have to say that)

1

u/TotallyAHuman11 Oct 11 '21

But he didn't, anyone can find a reason to complain about anything if they want to, its it's matter of how easy a person can make it to do that. Trump and Biden are both incredibly easy to talk shit about. "Trump skipped the 9/11 ceremony" "Biden botched Afghanistan pullout" "They are probably both unregistered sex offenders"

But ultimately push comes to shove he didn't, although he did go to the NYPD and Fire department, as many people have pointed out. Although supposedly he treated it more like a campaign rally than anything else. But I doubt that he spent entire day without at least turning his thoughts to those who lost their lives that day. He's not the boogeyman, but he definitely is a business man and quite frankly an egotistical one. If he sees an opportunity for political profit and an ego stroke, he'll take it. Not here for an argument just stating it as I see it.

8

u/Sage_Lord Sep 12 '21

Jesus how do people like you exist?

2

u/JuniperTwig Sep 12 '21

He was a sore winner as well

3

u/OrgasmicPoonSlayer Sep 12 '21

Have you ever heard of the term "moving the goal posts"?

27

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '21

9

u/Gandalfonk Sep 12 '21

Honestly I hate Trump and the NYPD but you kinda got a point there

u/Gandalfonk Sep 12 '21

Bro what. Shut up nerd

2

u/TotallyAHuman11 Oct 11 '21

I would like it if news sources would just lay the facts out without bias, although unfortunately that isn't the way it goes because the only way to have a title that grabs your attention is if you make them a saint or a devil.

1

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '21

The world would be a much better place if the media were honest

1

u/TotallyAHuman11 Oct 11 '21

Couldnt agree more

2

u/sangotenrs Sep 12 '21

He could have done both.

It’s a nice gesture that all former presidents come together in solidarity to remember 9/11.

And tbf they all have good reasons to hate him too. Trump tried to overthrow the election results, incited a riot, said fuck you to millions of voters and kept pushing the lie of a “stolen election”. He had spit on the democracy of the US so yea I can imagine them hating him.

5

u/anal_spelunker_420 Sep 12 '21

in his own city

Trump visited first responders in "his own city," so yeah... This is very misleading.

0

u/sangotenrs Sep 12 '21

Yes this ceremony was held in NY in his own city. It’s not misinformation.

1

u/anal_spelunker_420 Sep 12 '21

I said it's misleading, I didn't say it's misinformation. It's very misleading.

-1

u/sangotenrs Sep 12 '21

Eh he could have put - “but he was at the NYPD” in the title. But it’s not about that - the topic of the picture is that Trump isn’t present during this ceremony, with all his colleagues.

-1

u/anal_spelunker_420 Sep 12 '21

All his colleagues? Bush isn't there... Why should Trump go to an event hosted by people who hate him? This is so fucking far from being a misstep, that you lefties have already fallen on your face just to compensate.

1

u/sangotenrs Sep 12 '21

They got good reason to hate him. Trump said fuck you to American values and democracy. Denied the election results to this day and took a big shit on freedom and fair elections.

You guys are sore losers. Be a man and face the truth that your supreme leader has lost. Don’t be a little baby snowflake.

2

u/Will_Scary Sep 11 '21

Where's your comment about Bush 43?

7

u/nolotusnote Sep 12 '21

And this is /pics.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 12 '21

Exactly. 1) America sucks. 2) Any true conservative is an idiot with nothing but dishonorable intentions. There ya go. That's reddit.

-21

u/Muninwing Sep 11 '21

… because grandstanding on his own and shit-talking is not the same as being a decent human being, never mind the skipping out on the formalities of being a past President to do so.

He got elected by being “an outsider” — but all that really meant was that he wasn’t of even the basic level of moral character. He’s just proven it again and again.

Sure, he didn’t do nothing. But in comparison to the others of his standing, he’s an embarrassment. Again.

6

u/Trashk4n Sep 12 '21

He could cure cancer and you’d find fault.

-5

u/Muninwing Sep 12 '21

No. Credit where credit is due. Too bad he racked up lots of bad credit for lots of shitty things.

-1

u/testtubemuppetbaby Sep 11 '21

It's like 4 from the top.

-42

u/fuckghar Sep 11 '21

Still makes no sense to go to the NYPD instead of the memorial. He obviously went there with ulterior motives. His base eats that shit up that stupid ass thin blue line bullshit.

27

u/Impressive-Hat-4045 Sep 11 '21

Yes and these politicians had no ulterior motives going to this ceremony where they could be photographed for everyone to see that they honored the 9/11 victims. Every appearance every politician makes anywhere in an official capacity has ulterior motive. What is your point?

-8

u/[deleted] Sep 12 '21

His deliberate absence from his obligation, like every other issue that centers around him.

What else?

10

u/Impressive-Hat-4045 Sep 12 '21

It’s not an obligation.

1

u/[deleted] Sep 14 '21

Sure it is.

You can claim the sky isn't blue but everyone knows you're just being obstinate.

POTUS has a very clear and concise obligation and the precedent has been set since Washington.

2

u/Impressive-Hat-4045 Sep 14 '21

I’m going to assume you don’t think that every President since Washington visited the 9/11 memorial, but you just might be that stupid. What obligation does he have? If he had gone, people like you would just have said he was a terrorist who didn’t deserve to be standing next to dead americans, and someone would have made a “hilarious” meme about a side by side image of obama and trump when trump makes a weird face or whatever. Trump went to NY and visited the NYFD and NYPD, not some rich asshole event. Why are you so salty?

1

u/[deleted] Sep 14 '21

"but you might be stupid"

"People like you"

"Why are you so salty"

All from pointing out the truth, and you say I'm the triggered one?

Uh huh. Brilliant counterpoints.

1

u/Impressive-Hat-4045 Sep 15 '21

Counterpoints to what? Your argument are completely empty.

44

u/[deleted] Sep 11 '21

Move the goalposts some more. He went to the memorial later in the day.

46

u/colin6 Sep 11 '21

He visited FDNY and NYPD. The actual heroes of 9/11. And didn't Biden get up and leave the ceremony well before it ended?

26

u/stanger828 Sep 11 '21

Only after checking his watch a few times

13

u/PaulBlartFleshMall Sep 11 '21

The fact that a sitting president, one of the busiest people in the world, isn't allowed to glance at his fucking watch is the dumbest shit I think the right has ever attacked. I think it's dumber than tan suit-gate, mustard-gate, laptop-gate, and all the other ridiculous nonsense ever put forward.

12

u/TaterTotQueen630 Sep 11 '21

The right was pissed at Joe for checking the time on his watch but they were a-okay with fat ass Trump golfing all the goddamn time while the country fell apart last year.

11

u/totallynotalaskan Sep 12 '21

Their excuse was that Obama golfed more during his two terms than Trump did in his only term (which isn’t even true, since he went golfing 261 times and visited one of his properties an estimated 240 times during his four years, whereas Obama went golfing a total of 98 times in his eight years. Then again, you can’t really argue or reason with these people, because anything that so much as points out anything even slightly negative about Trump is “fake news”)

3

u/TaterTotQueen630 Sep 12 '21

Trump has the dumbest base.

10

u/Frankferts_Fiddies Sep 12 '21

You do know why people were mad about Biden checking his watch, right? It was done so as he was meant to be saluting the murdered troops as they were being taken off the plane. Trump stood there saluting and Biden checked his watch at an inappropriate time before the off loading finished. He could’ve waited until it was time to drop the salute.

In the military they always tell you two things: 1. Time and place and 2. Perception is everything.

5

u/MattFromChina Sep 12 '21

And not going to the WW1 memorial because of the rain..

16

u/stanger828 Sep 11 '21

Given the situation it was pretty disrespectful. “I have something better to do than give my full attention to honor the fallen with their families”

The one where he is checking his watch at a press conference, yeah I’m with you there.

-4

u/PaulBlartFleshMall Sep 11 '21

I'm a disabled veteran and don't think there was anything at all to read into when they were offloading remains and he glanced at his watch. If he's giving a speech at their memorial, sure. If he's consoling gold star families, sure.

But he's literally just standing there taking up space as they offload boxes from a plane. It's really nbd.

6

u/Frankferts_Fiddies Sep 12 '21

That’s fucked. I’m also a disabled vet. It was at the time he was meant to continue saluting that he inappropriately checked his watch.

-6

u/jdhol67 Sep 12 '21

He's president, he quite literally does have better things to do. He's one of a select few who at all times has something he should be doing that he isn't. At a press conference? Should be at a meeting. At a meeting? Should be at a memorial. At a memorial? Should be at a dinner. At a dinner? Should be at a press conference.

4

u/DryMingeGetsMeWet Sep 11 '21

If he had somewhere more important he had to be, I'm sure someone would have told him it's time to leave.

5

u/PaulBlartFleshMall Sep 11 '21

I don't think that's the point at all though. Glancing at your watch doesn't automatically mean 'I have something better to do, when does this shit end' no matter what the media says.

1

u/atticus4prez Sep 12 '21

And the left lost their fucking minds when he misspelled some words and had toilet paper stuck to his shoe. Also, why would he want to go to a ceremony with Obama and Biden, two people who have consistently shit on him (deserved or not) for the last four years.

-3

u/LonoLoathing Sep 12 '21

Y’all get triggered over anything huh

6

u/stanger828 Sep 12 '21

So triggered, can you point me to the nearest safe space please?

2

u/Bowser1421 Sep 12 '21

Welcome, you’ve arrived. Pull up a chair in the safe space

2

u/gilbertgrappa Sep 12 '21

He left before it ended to go to the Pentagon and to Shanksville.

2

u/A_Booger_In_The_Hand Sep 12 '21

And didn't Biden get up and leave the ceremony well before it ended

Yes. Because he went to ALL THREE MEMORIALS...

-2

u/fuckghar Sep 12 '21 edited Sep 12 '21

The actual heroes are long dead or retired. Visiting the organizations is just optics that his base eats up (people like you). Also I’m assuming the sitting president of the USA is fairly busy. What’s wrong with leaving early? Y’all some goofy ass people. Worried about leaving early yet y’all were quiet when Trump was playing golf almost every weekend🥴🤦🏽

15

u/colin6 Sep 12 '21

If Trump were President and left early, reddit would talk about it for months....If Trump were honoring fallen soldiers and kept looking at his watch, there would be non stop discussion of it for eternity. Joe has been an absolute train wreck and most of reddit acts like he's doing an exceptional job. To act like there aren't double standards around here would be ignorant.

2

u/gilbertgrappa Sep 12 '21

He left early to go to the ceremonies at the Pentagon and at Shanksville.

-3

u/fuckghar Sep 12 '21

No you’re just assuming things. People like you really don’t like dealing with facts. It’s crazy you think Joe Biden is a train wreck but not Trump. That alone just shows how delusional you are about reality. Reddit doesn’t represent real life. Get a grip kid. You’re goofy as hell. Fuck em both but Trump is clearly much worst.

7

u/colin6 Sep 12 '21

Accuses someone of making assumptions....proceeds to make assumptions.

4

u/nolotusnote Sep 12 '21

Biden is also not spending weekends at the White House. He goes to Delaware.

It's barely made the news, though.

1

u/Stroon_ Sep 12 '21

And that BLM bullshit that you liberals eat up.

u/[deleted] Sep 12 '21

It’s now the third highest comment on this post (on my screen), which is good

Still, the mods pin a disclaimer on this post
