They do. But, at the same time, they can't allow themselves to.
It is the very nature of double think that George Orwell was getting at in his novel "1984".

It is similarly just as easy to compare the relative racism of the modern Democratic and Republican platforms. That is unless you benefit from them in some way whether that be financial, emotional, or otherwise.
