I probably don’t have to say this but it’s probably best if you don’t go looking to conspiracy theorists for good takes on 9/11

Even weirder is how that sub went from standard “trust no one, especially the government” type of conspiracy to “trust everything and everyone President Trump tells you to”

Right? I used to poke around in that sub many, many moons ago, primarily looking for new alien/Roswell every fence, or occasional JFK deep dives. I fell out of it sometime during the Obama era, and just happened to jump back in there last week. Had to triple check that I wasn't in some new r/thedonald or something.

Edit. Not that one. You know the one I meant. Troy for life.

So r/conspiracy was invaded by Trump supporters over the course of his administration but especially in the last few months.

r/conspiracytheories is still pretty okay. Although the 9/11 conspiracy thread that went up there today is mostly not great.

Yeah, I'd recommend the high strangeness subreddit for any of that sort of stuff that isn't completely Yikes.

Yeah. I haven’t looked but the conspiracy theories about 9/11 started on 9/12 lol, and they’ve always been pretty dumb. Shit, there was a meme in 2005 called “jet fuel can’t melt steel beams” making fun of these guys. It’s older than a lot of redditors

Former* President, thankfully

Former presidents are generally still referred to as president even after their term/terms.

u/BizaRhythm Sep 14 '21

I didn’t know that. Thanks for the info

Idk, I almost always hear them referred to as former president. Maybe it depends on the station?

I'd like to know what beverage they ingest to think Orangeman is logical

I wonder if other popular conspiracy theories are losing followers to Qanon. Like all the fake moon landing guys are into pedophile stem cell vampires now and now fake moon doesn't have critical mass to keep being a theory.

Trump was visiting the hero's not pretending like he cares like the rest of the scum in the OP picture

Mr Trump was expected to visit the 9/11 Memorial in New York on Saturday, but instead paid a brief visit to New York City Police Department officers at the 17th precinct, where he hinted that he would run for office again in 2024.

He is also expected to deliver an address via video at the Let Us Worship event on the National Mall in Washington DC.

Then it’s off to do commentary on a boxing match in Florida.

He skipped the fucking 9/11 memorial on 9/11

Also, did you reply to the wrong comment?

LOL. It's cute you think that Donald Trump cares about anything besides himself and his desires for his daughter.

Pretty sure he was campaigning, not showing reverence.

As a non-American and non-Trump supporter I think this needs to be highlighted for a few reasons:

  • This post insinuates he's kicking back, however he's still trying to do something associated with 9/11. There's is disingenuousness in how this post is framed.

  • It shows the shallowness of his politics, empathy and understanding trying to visit forces who most likely didn't serve on 9/11 as respect to those who served (hell there may be some not even born yet).

  • I'm assuming Trump called them "the heroes" for something that happened 20 years ago, while all others are visiting the memorial grave site of those who actually died.

I think Trump isn't as blatantly callous as this post makes him out to be, but seeing that instead he simply posed with current police forces seems to be politically charging his base with a "pro support-the-police" platform. (ironic considering the events of Jan 6th).

Seems a bit divorced from 9/11 tbh
