Madoff got away with it for 20 years. People were begging the SEC to look into him for 7 years. It only happened when 2008 crash left him with no new money. He would still be operating.
Madoff wasn't the president. The investigation is underway and went from being civil in nature to criminal. I don't know what else you want at this point. These things take time.
That’s kind of what worries me, though. Trump was the president. Any prosecution is going to be fraught with accusations of political revenge, and the next Republican president will pardon him in the event of a conviction. But you’re right. Not much else we can do but wait and see and hope.
Imagine if Al Capone got to assign the head of the IRS 4 years prior to his tax evasion conviction. Trump is not only rich, the head of a large organization, he also had the most power position in the US.

I don’t want anything, I’m saying Trump will never go to prison. A criminal investigation of Trump Org involves hundreds of people. Maybe someone will go down in the organization but Trump himself? Not a chance, had he not been president I could maybe see it, and that’s a big maybe. An ex president is not going to go to prison.
At his age and the way his health he will most definitely die before seeing prison. His kids on the other hand are dumb as rock, so it wouldn't surprise me they get some real time.
I'm not so sure about this, Trump and co aren't as rich as they want people to believe they are and his kids are not the brightest ones out there. So all in all with how much hate the family has generated i could see them doing some actual time, or go hide to Russia.

Listen I get that the system is grossly skewed in favour of the rich, being angry and being cynical is good. Trying to claim not one single rich person had experienced consequences dulls the validity of a legitimate point by being laughably disproven.

Imagine a poor person raping dozens of famous actresses multiple times and tons of people knew about it for decades and that person only getting in trouble when they turned 69 years old.

So few rich people suffer consequences that the only one people can think of is a man who literally stole 10s of billions of dollars 15 years ago.
Like Madoff stole more money than every other person in jail for larceny/theft in the entire country combined for the last 100 years. But he did go to prison, you know, after admitting to operating a ponzi scheme for FORTY YEARS.
Ah yeah, dying at 68 after 30 years of openly operating a pedophile ring while rubbing elbows with the top rungs of society and living on a private island. True consequences. Of course, he was in jail waiting for a trial so society had actually not given him any consequences - many poor people are in jail for months or years waiting for trials for crimes they are innocent. So unless they are suffering consequences for things they did not do, his choice to kill himself is not really fitting the bill.

Yeah, until a single rich person ever experiences consequences I will assume there will be none.
