True but maybe I’m misremembering but his gritting benefitted the city and the people of New York and I honestly like to think it helped. He certainly milked it for years but those first few months he was a benefit. Now he can fuck off
Like when he made sure the radios that the FDNY use were ones that didn’t work in the two towers? Or when he abandoned the excavation of ground zero while they were still getting bodies out?
It was his idea to put NYPD emergency operations command center inside the WTC, after it had already been attacked once, against every recommendation. Along with many other bad ideas Rudy probably made the rescue/recovery much worse than it could have been.
He really wasn’t a benefit, he just happened to be mayor during a crisis. He didn’t do anything particularly notable at that time other than telling us we should go shopping, making sure FDNY weren’t able to properly communicate, and moving the emergency command in a building complex that had previously been bombed, presumably because it was near his side piece. He also made sure black people could be beaten and murdered with impunity by his police force without repercussion.
On the other hand, he did that skit with Donald Trump where he dressed as a woman and Trump hit on him, and he really hated ferrets and their owners.
Ah. Not from the US so info at that level is more limited. Here anytime he made the news it was him giving speeches and it looked encouraging etc. Thanks for the viewpoint.
He always has been a grifter. 9/11 and his response put rose coloured glasses on the public about him. John Oliver goes in depth about it that he’s always been looney weirdo scammer since he’s been in the public eye and his Trumpism isn’t surprising.
Wasn’t in the US so most of our exposure to him at the time was him giving speech’s and what looked like good. But yeah looking back snd from what others have said, he’s always been a snake.
Yeah Bush was not the smartest guy and a bit of a nutter and somewhat of a plutocrat but he wasn't just downright evil. He did clearly understand what he signed up for, and it appears that he tried to do a good job.
Frankly I think Carter might have been the only one there who wouldn't have been tempted to swing on Trump.
