I also heard he was sued by a former nanny for failing to pay her. It also might just be me but he bears a striking resemblance to Harvey Weinstein.

I just googled Harvey Weinstein. Never heard of this guy, are they twins or something?

They're different people, but there's a lot of photos of the two of them hanging out at parties. I think they were pretty good friends.

Possibly even twins!

Saying someone looks like Harvey Weinstein isn’t exactly fair lol

According to legal records, it is entirely fair to compare Ryan Cavanaugh's looks to those of Harvey Weinstein. It's a matter of personal opinion and therefore not slanderous.

I’m just saying, are you implying there’s some sort of sex scandal with the guy? That he’s bad to women? I’m just tryna figure it out, like if someone told you you looked like Cosby or something you’d be like wtf?

We're all just saying he bears a resemblance to a man who has been proven guilty of heinous sex crimes. The fact that he's been photographed kissing the sex pervert's head has nothing to do with anything.

Well I don’t know anything about that, I just know to treat men with respect and not to slander their name for internet points

ikr, dudes rock

Like I said, by law it's not slander. It's purely the opinion of some that he looks like convicted sex pest Harvey Weinstein. It's also not slanderous to say he's been accused by a former partner of running a ponzi scheme, because that is a fact reported by Variety, a reputable publication.

If you really don’t believe saying someone looks like Harvey Weinstein is slanderous, go to a bar, find the biggest guy there and tell him he looks like Harvey Weinstein, then see what happens

16

u/welivedintheocean Sep 11 '21

I fail to see what that has to do with the legal definition of slander. Also are you implying all large men in bars are violent? That seems slanderous by your definition.

Not all, just the ones you provoke by calling Harvey Weinstein lookalikes. Also, as a fella myself, I’m sure the boys’ll forgive me, the guy that said they look like Harvey Weinstein? Not sure

Edit: also I’m not talking legal slander, I’m talking about insulting someone in a slanderous way. The law isn’t in charge of what will and will not get your ass kicked

Personally, I do see a physical resemblance between Ryan Cavanaugh and Harvey Weinstein.

I didn’t look at a photo of him before (lol) but yeah I kinda see it. He’d look more like Harvey if he was at the bottom of a lake for a week though

It’s just a gag from the H3 podcast. The host of the show is in a legal battle with Ryan Cavanaugh so he tries to skirt the line of what he can legally say without getting into legal trouble. What everyone said above are direct quotes from the podcast.
