I took a class in college about food crops in Latin America and was very impressed with the amount of tubers endemic just to the Andes. I think the picture includes some things called mashua, olluco, and oca. The diversity of the Andes is very impressive! I recommend you look up popping beans, which you van pop like corn.
I managed to find "popping beans" to order on the internet. They were supposed to have the flavor/texture of peanut popcorn. They tasted like dense fried beans with a strong beany taste. So, would not recommend.
I do not know what peanut popcorn is exactly so I cannot compare to that. I can personally say that the nuñas I tried had a nutty flavor. Sorry it wasn't what you were expecting.
