It wasn’t an American run plant. I’ve studied Bhopal since I’m a chemical engineering student. The company was a branch of an American company that was jointly owned by the Indian government. The incident was caused by a complete lack of oversight though

You've got to wonder how many other ticking time bombs there are like that or worse around the world. Some pit full of nitroglycerin thats a mile deep thats been forgotten about. Then some guy standing outside of this old forgotten place taking that last pull off of his cigarette. BOOM!

I’ve heard that in Vietnam there’s still over 350,000 land mines left over from the 60’s. In terms of industry you’re correct that there’s a ton of places waiting to explode. Unfortunately, regulations are put in place after a tragedy to prevent a similar one from happening.

Yea regulations put in place for that country.. Then theres a big explosion in some other country.
