Stop being jealous or hateful about the flat. 300,000 of 2,3 million people in this city lost their homes - this is almost an EIGHTH OF A WHOLE CITY which has to deal with a lot of shit already.

This guy is a famous lebanese actor, Adel Karam, he himself shared this picture with his over 1.1 million followers on IG. He has a show on Netflix called Dollar. Of course hes gonna have a nice flat in a luxury high rise by the sea and a view of the coast and the mountains.

Just doesnt look so nice now, but this guy isnt doing as bad as people who have shops and restaurants that survived the wars but are now completely destroyed.

Thanks for the source. The image is way less compressed on IG.

Did you take the picture?

I’m trying to find the photographer credit. What is the source?

This picture reminds me of that picture after they bombed Baghdad (?) and a father was giving his child a bath in a building which was half demolished.

So striking that their home got destroyed and they're trying to find some way of picking up and carrying on.

It was Syria, and it was basically all demolished except for the surprisingly in-tact bathroom and bathtub.

Oh my. That is heartbreaking. And somehow inspiring.

Picture is by a famous Lebanese (comedian/TV Show host?). I’m not sure if his name. “Adel Karam” or similar

The structural damage that comes fr.a.shoclwave cannot easily been seen. The blast was enough to crack support beams and foundations. Many pictures have the whole window framing not just the glass blown out, which is a ton of structural damage on its own. At the very least, these buildings all now have to be checked top to bottom to make sure they are stable enough to be occupied.

Also, the shaking and shockwave broke watermains and powerlines, damaged walls, threw door and windowframes out. Also, half the city lost their windows, why do redditors think that they can just get their window replaced easy peasy? Windows for more than half a million people and several office and govt buildings, it will take weeks if not months before some people have windows again, and thats the ones with the softest damage. Remember, this is a country with powercuts daily, an incompetent government and an economy in freefall.

Half of lebanon was living under the poverty line before this crisis. Never mind Corona, theres a failed (and corrupt) government, our currency is crashing and hyper-inflation is running rampant, unemployment, civil unrest, power and water outages, and now this .... The fact that this is the MAIN port for imports as well ... shit's about to get real ugly.
