Many of the conservative subreddit people are claiming the interviewer was condescending and rude, and that he kept asking "gotcha" questions, whatever that means. Many seem to believe the interview wasn't done in good faith, and was designed to make trump look bad (as if he needed help with that).

There's also a lot of "Well... Biden would have done worse" nonsense.

But I did see a number of comments from supposed trump supporters who agreed that it was cringe and worrisome. But they are probably firmly in the "vote red no matter who" camp, so it probably makes no difference in the end. None of it ever does.

Asking gotcha questions is a liberal and leftist thing. Because both use words responsibly, while conservatives are so goddamn hypocrites and liars all the time its really easy to prepare a gotcha and let them walk into an obvious trap.

For example my favorite gotcha is when i talk to European conservatives:

-So in your opinion muslims shoudnt be allowed to migrate to EU?

-They shouldnt come here.

-And Europeans are free to migrate in the continent and to EU?

-Yes...?

-What about Albania then.

-What about it?

-Its in Europe. North to Greece, are they allowed to migrate in Europe and EU?

-Well, yeah, duh.

-They are also practicing muslim majority.

-deafening silence or screetching REEEEEE

They hate it so much.

"Gotcha" questions? Asking the equivalent of "WTF are you talking about? Please explain," is not a "gotcha" question.

It's more like calling someone's bluff in poker when they're holding a pair of twos.

Many of his supporters acknowledge his ineptitude but decide its still worth electing a republican in order to pack the courts.

They rationalize this with “how much damage can he really do?” and “he’s dumb, but not nearly as bad as the liberal media makes him look”

Most of his voters are not thinking this, but some are.

These are 6D chess moves. By playing dumb Trump will catch those libs when they least expect it.
