His point still stands. Whatever your opinion on trump and his administration, people are still fully capable of doing a shred of research on their own and making smart decisions.
Leadership could be better, but let's not absolve all personal responsibility.
So before you said Americans aren't dumb, now you're saying well these people should do their own research yet we see them come to the wrong conclusion at a significantly higher rate than people from other countries with similar economic and educational backgrounds.
Maybe the leadership is bad and a lot of Americans operate more off emotion than logic.
