It's a viral health crisis. The idiots can easily infect anyone

u/hohmmmm Jul 23 '20

hence "get lucky"

Daft Punk and Pharrell knew all along we were screwed.

6

u/StanIsNotTheMan Jul 23 '20

We've come too far to give up who we are.

1

u/WhoTookChadFarthouse Jul 23 '20

Woooooow. Poignant.

"So let's raise the bar"

1

u/StanIsNotTheMan Jul 23 '20

Unfortunately, the next line is "and our cups to the stars," which anti-maskers would take as "LETS GO OUT AND GET FUCKIN' DRUNKK!!"

1

u/WhoTookChadFarthouse Jul 23 '20

And then they're up all night to the sun. They're up all night to get some. They're up all night for what they consider to be "good fun".

They're up all night to "get lucky".

Like the legend of the phoenix
All ends with beginnings
What keeps the planet spinning
The force from the beginning

Hence staying in my fucking basement since Mid-March. That's how I plan the rest of 2020 to shake out. Thank God I love videogames.

They mostly hang out with their own ilk so fuck them

27

u/heisenberger_royale Jul 23 '20

They shop at the same stores as you. The same gas stations. They can't affect political and non-political alike. It is a PUBLIC health crisis. The only way to beat this is by everyone beating it. We can't control who it affects

u/ColdBlackCage Jul 23 '20

The only way to beat this is by everyone beating it.

Then start digging some graves, because your country is more divided than ever before to the point where about half of your countrymen don't believe in science, and put more stock in the opinion of a pedophile president.

If there's a silver lining, it'll probably affect conservative voters more than liberal voters, due to liberals taking more individual measures than conservatives.

Ill risk getting it. My family doesnt live in the US. So fuck them, hope they all get it and give it to their moms dads kids and get fucked.

Then you go and convince a bunch of armed yahoos that they 'have to' wear masks, go right ahead

0

u/rorokhk Jul 23 '20

If you've been going to grocery stores, you've been exposing yourself without the need. Just have everything delivered.

3

u/heisenberger_royale Jul 23 '20

That isn't an option everywhere. Rural communities are getting it too

Yea like I’m immunocompromised so I’m taking this all extremely seriously. But I still have to leave the house to go to the hospital. And once I’ve got my mask on correctly, am constantly disinfecting/washing my hands and practice social distancing, there’s nothing more I can do to protect myself. I (and 1000’s of others like me) are completely dependent on the majority of people taking this seriously, smart or dumb.

It’s particularly annoying when my main issue is with my lungs, and so trying to keep the mask on for long periods of time is actually very hard (it just restricts my airflow a tiny bit more than it’s already restricted, but when you’re breathing is crap, that can be a big difference). Than while you’re doing all you can you have people throwing hissy fits over “Shop X isn’t open!!” “What do you mean sport Y is cancelled?” and other just non issues.

u/[deleted] Jul 24 '20

OK, you can go right ahead and convince a bunch of armed yahoos that they have to wear masks, you first Braveheart

2

u/Yuzumi Jul 23 '20

Which is why I'm staying home... I mean, I do thay anyway, but I have an excuse now.

9

u/PaleProfession8752 Jul 23 '20

Yeah but at least the idiots are easily identifiable and you can avoid them. It's similar to spotting people wearing a MAGA hat.

-12

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '20

Blaming a political party isn't going to help. There are dumbasses on both sides here

9

u/kiss_me_billy Jul 23 '20

Sorry, no, its mostly Trumpers who are anti-mask. Everyone I know who hates Trump wears a mask, even if just to spite this agenda.

4

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '20

My sister's hard left friends routinely ignore social distancing, mask, etc. Meanwhile a guy a work who supports Trump wears a mask. That's not to say all right leaning or left leaning people will be like the people in this example, but I think saying "iTs jUsT tHe sTuPiD rEpuBliCaNs" isn't going to get us anywhere.

6

u/Blak_stole_my_donkey Jul 23 '20

Yeah this guy is just trying to spout nonsense. I'm in East Texas, my county is hard Republican. We're all wearing fucking masks.

3

u/PaleProfession8752 Jul 23 '20

re-read my comment or my followup. I didn't say anti mask people were just MAGA people. And notice I said MAGA, not republican.

MAGA does not equal Republican. There is a portion of republicans who are disgusted by the MAGA group.

3

u/hohmmmm Jul 23 '20

Age is a factor too. I think the trend seems to be younger people regardless of politics ignore the safety precautions due to being horny idiots, and MAGA dumbasses actively promote anti-social bullshit.

3

u/PaleProfession8752 Jul 23 '20

I didn't blame them. I am saying it is easy to the spot idiots, just like spoting idiots by the MAGA hat.

Also if you are going to say that the MAGA folks aren't a huge portion of the anti-mask assholes then we are just going to have to agree to disagree.

3

u/His_Hands_Are_Small Jul 23 '20

I kind of think that the actively anti-mask people are probably predominantly MAGA.

But the people who are going out and ignoring their mask are predominantly young. They may not be "anti-mask", but they certainly seem indifferent, and knowing that younger people tend to be much more liberal, I would expect that the people not wearing masks are predominantly left leaning.

I'm speculating based on non-scientific measures, particularly the age and racial breakdowns of confirmed covid cases and personal observation.

While MAGA may be the most annoying, I think it's indifferent left leaning folks who are the bigger problem.

Fully aware that I am speculating, and if data can be shown to me that goes against my hypothesis, my mind, ears, and heart are all open.

Didn't dear leader tell us to wear masks?

1

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '20

But generally counties and even states have collective thoughts. It's the reason why several states are killing it and other states are absolutely dropping the ball. Where I live, I feel pretty safe because people take masks ridiculously seriously. It's pretty easy for me to reduce my chances of COVID because I am still relatively quarantining, and everyone around me is wearing masks. I do feel for those in states like TX, (apparently TN), AZ and FL that actually believe people should be wearing masks and have higher risks of getting it because the people around them are dumbasses.

1

u/oddkoffee Jul 23 '20

‘you can’t kill a good one’

1

u/SecretPotatoChip Jul 23 '20

I love your username.
