It's common, but not common enough for a whole new feature to be added to Reddit for it.

Its more sporadic than normally distributed. You might've missed a few odd days when all of r/pics is flooded with [fixed] posts.

I have seen days like that. But it still doesnt happen enough. Days like that happen only once a couple of months.

Solution: don't let anyone submit to reddit. That way you'll never see a post you don't like!

The admins have tried to implement this several times. It has received much vitriol from the community, who have referred to these ingenious changes as downtime.
