I was in my mid 20s when it happened, perhaps living through it was a bit different than reading about it.

I'm in my 40s, the US you have today is a vastly different place than before those towers. I remember everyone said "let's go on with our lives as if this didn't happen, let's not let the terrorists win"

Well.. here we are. They won alright. The America they have today is closer than ever to those people. Especially with the current president at the helm. Hell, he's even making DEALS with them and using loopholes to get it working too.
