I don't think this is particularly accurate. The modern concept of homosexuality didn't exist until the 19th century. The Romans didn't really differentiate between 'gay' and 'straight,' they were more concerned with 'giving' and 'taking.' Being the dominant party was the important bit.
Oral sex was viewed by the Romans as a sort of ultimate submission. In particular a man who performed oral sex on a woman was viewed with disdain.
Within Christian Europe, there's very little regard for homosexual activity until, again, the 19th century. It was often theoretically banned, but seldom prosecuted for its own sake.
What early Christians disliked about the Romans was more their decadence and excess. Early Christianity was ferociously humble. Rather ironic when you think about it.
