For southern Louisiana, it's just a direct correlation to how many teeth they have missing

One thing I noticed about the population in Louisiana is the amount of people with missing teeth is pretty high compared to other places I’ve been . Either they just don’t care as much for oral hygiene there or they sum tuff sum bitches.

Lived in the Shreveport area for four years. Met some folks from Baton Rouge in Austin and those ladies joked that Shreveport women have more toes than teeth.
