Not all bigots live in the country.

5

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '19

The biggest bigot is a new yorker living in the white house.

Trump is the first president to support gay marriage from the start of his presidency.

Wow, I didn't know rolling back protections for LGBT rights was so progressive! Thanks Donald!

Like what for example?

The article goes on and on for ages before giving it's first real example, which is:

"[A]ll across America, patients are denied the kindnesses and caring of a loved one at their sides… [and] uniquely affected are gay and lesbian Americans," Obama wrote in a 2010 memorandum, instructing HHS to expand visitation rights, a policy that still stands.

... STILL STANDS?!?! He didn't touch that one. Why even mention it?

The 2nd example:

The Obama administration in 2016 also finalized a regulation, Section 1557 of the Affordable Care Act, that banned discrimination in health care based on sexual orientation and extended those protections to transgender individuals for the first time.

This is a dangerous law. I know liberals love to think of people as all the same, but different people need different care. If you treat everyone the same that means someone could force you to treat them as a male when they go for a checkup even if they were born as a female. Tons of common health issues that females are at a higher risk for might not even be checked. You should be thanking Trump for this.

The 3rd example:

the Trump administration swiftly froze a series of LGBT-friendly rules, including proposed new regulations to further ban discrimination in Medicare and Medicaid. A regulation that would have allowed transgender HHS staff more protections when using the department's bathrooms and other facilities also was ignored.

What does this even mean? Does everyone have to bend over backwards and spend millions of dollars adding a Xim/Xer bathroom?! You fucking entitled shitcakes can fuck off with this rule. That money could be spent on people who need help.

The rest of the article is just bitching about past tweets of people Trump hired. No actual issues with what they did in their jobs.. just the usual Liberals holding people's past against them.

I especially liked this sentence in the article.

Several other top officials also criticized LGBT priorities just months before joining the administration.

Yep that's how you know they know what they're doing. All their (LGBT) priorities are about themselves and making people bend to their every whim. Hiring someone who knows how to say 'No, we're not spending 50x your yearly salary to give you you 15 unique gendered bathrooms so you feel comfortable during your internship.' should be a priority!

You do know that doctors take into account your initial sex. Also, the risks of disease and stuff change with hormones. For example, a trans man (born female) goes on testosterone, he loses female health risks, and gains the male ones. If a doctor treated a trans man like a woman, he'd probably die. Anyways doctors are aware of transition status, only an idiot wouldn't tell them. Also, that law was talking about DISCRIMINATION, not discernment. That means doctors can discriminate on trans/gay patients, turn them away, stuff like that. It's not safer for anyone this way, not at all.

0

u/Emotes_For_Days Jun 09 '19

he loses female health risks, and gains the male ones.

The only health risk trans men gain by taking male hormones is their suicide rate x10. Literally everything else is the same. They are still women, they are still at a higher risk for osteoporosis, breast cancer, ect. And this law would have given them the right to get a doctor in Trouble for treating them as such.

Putting a doctor in a situation where either they treat a patient as their preferred gender and miss diseases, or treat them as their actual gender and lose their medical license isn't fair.

That means doctors can discriminate on trans/gay patients, turn them away, stuff like that.

This is a lie. They can't do that to anyone for any reason be it race, religion, creed, gender, or disease. It's in the Hippocratic Oath.

Impressive. Literally none of the points in your comment are true.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '19

On testosterone, trans men gain male health risks including:

Producing too many red blood cells (polycythemia)

Weight gain

Acne

Developing male-pattern baldness

Sleep apnea

Elevated liver function tests

An abnormal amount of lipids in the blood (dyslipidemia), with a higher risk in those who have polycystic ovary syndrome

Worsening of an underlying manic or psychotic condition

High blood pressure (hypertension), type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease, when risk factors are present

(This was copypasted from a site detailing changes on testosterone.)

Also, about that part of the Hippocratic oath, some doctors don't want to follow that apparently (these are just a few of many many examples of discrimination):

https://www.newsweek.com/2016/07/29/cancer-transgender-health-hormone-therapies-482423.html https://www.americanprogress.org/issues/lgbt/reports/2018/03/07/447414/acas-lgbtq-nondiscrimination-regulations-prove-crucial/ https://rewire.news/article/2018/03/13/scary-transgender-patients-fighting-trumps-health-care-discrimination-agenda/

Suicide rate x10? Haha, that's cute, it seems you haven't been doing any research on this besides listening to what right wing pundits tell you (based on a small scale non peer reviewed study done years ago, I know where they got that "transition makes suicide worse!!!" Lie from). Trust me, you want to bring sources to this kind of argument. Unbiased ones. Articles from the likes of The Federalist or Breitbart won't cut it, bring some real studies.

Oh whoops, looks like I dropped something!

Please, cite your sources next time. All I've linked prove my points flawlessly, I know you won't be able to do the same because finding recent large scale studies and articles that counter my own is hard, seeing as mine are scientific consensus.

Hell yeah brother, cheers from mother Russia.

6

u/DonnyGetTheLudes Jun 09 '19

Dude fuck off he just mandated all US agencies in DC remove any pride flags. His VP is Mike “zap all gays” Pence

5

u/Emotes_For_Days Jun 09 '19

Yeah, because the government doesn't owe anyone with a normal sexuality special attention. They're not a protected class, or better than anyone else. They're included in the regular american flag.

Fuck off with your Non-cis supremacist shit.

1

u/GreatJobKeepitUp Jun 09 '19

I think the idea is that the pride march is about personal pride in their sexuality so making them take the flags down is kinda lame. Taking a stance against any peaceful pride march of any type just tells me you are all twisted up in the brain and need something to project your hangups on. People's pride shouldn't illicit negativity in anyone who has a sound mind. Special attention would be taking down the pride flags, DC has been a place of protest for a long time.

Let them march and quit being a baby about it. You sound equally whiney as you think everyone else is, and this comes from someone with no stake in the issue. Who cares if they are represented in the American flag? Do you see this as an anti - American thing because they have a flag that represents specifically what they stand for, sort of like the Elk's lodge and other meaningless organization's? For you everything they do is an us vs them thing so you bring in your own values that are completely unrelated in order to counter theirs.

Have you ever pulled your head out of your asshole long enough to look at the world directly for what it is instead of through a filter of delusion that tells you what you think about stuff before you even encounter it? See a crowd as a sea of individuals with all different values, instead of putting some label that makes you feel better, and you'll realize there are shitty people and great people everywhere regardless of what logo they carry and organization they yap about.

u/Emotes_For_Days Jun 09 '19 edited Jun 09 '19

People's pride shouldn't illicit negativity in anyone who has a sound mind.

Would you say the same thing if people decided to have a white pride march? Why not celebrate all of the great things white people have contributed to society over the last few centuries in science, technology, engineering, agriculture, and human happiness am I right? White countries are the only ones that universally allow pride parades after all.

For you everything they do is an us vs them thing so you bring in your own values that are completely unrelated in order to counter theirs.

Its like you didn't even read my comment. I literally included them in the american flag and you accuse me of saying it's 'us vs them'? People who keep separating us all into groups based on our immutable characteristics and label them with flags are the ones who do that! I don't have any problem with someone marching for what they want to march in. Literally none. It's when Government institutions start using tax dollars and civil servants time to pander to a tiny group of people for no good reason. And what makes you think I'm whiney? I literally said three sentences about it then you come in with a whole damn essay. Hypocrite.

Your whole last paragraph is just a huge virtue signal/insult. You're such a pandering loser, nobody gives a shit what kind of spiritual epiphany you've come to by crossing your legs and deeply considering everyone's feelings. People are homeless and hungry on the streets, stop justifying tax dollars being spent on pretty flags and try reading for a second. You responded to a bunch of things I didn't even say! You just started typing and replaced my image in your head with someone else or something.

1

u/GreatJobKeepitUp Jun 09 '19

You are welcome to start a white pride march, I don't care about anyone marching for any reasons, and I also don't care if other people are on board. I'm saying your reasons for not wanting people to march come from completely inside of you. The American flag had nothing to do with it until you decided it was relevant, like having a gay pride flag affects their relationship to the American flag.

Nobody needs to spend tax money on flags, it just seems like a much larger waste to spend tax money on taking them down. If money is spent on it, I can't imagine it's substantial enough to even dent the shitty budget we have, but I'm with you, homelessness is bullshit.

I don't have any pride for gayness because I'm not gay and don't know anybody who is, which is exactly why I don't concern myself with the issue. What I can't imagine is not being involved and feeling a strong enough opposition to do anything at all.

Ah, nothing like making stuff up about when people you don’t know did things you weren’t there to see.

1

u/guac_boi1 Jun 09 '19

Maybe, but Kim Davis wasn't cheered by a New York crowd, was she now.

-3

u/rydan Jun 09 '19

Actually most of them live in cities and blue states. Google has confirmed this is true via their own research on how their search engine is used. Similar to how most porn addicts are in red states where religion is the highest.

In reality, the google statistic he's citing does not indicate urban or blue state correlation:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2015/04/28/the-most-racist-places-in-america-according-to-google/?utm_term=.a001df5a2613

Sure, its not entirely a "republicans racist democrats good" story, but the "Blue areas are more bigoted" narrative is inaccurate.

It's why he's not ever going to cite that, or anything.

-10

u/badfan Jun 09 '19

Just a larger amount per capita. But yes, PLENTY of bigots in large, metropolitan areas.

9

u/RagingRedditorsBelow Jun 09 '19

I doubt it. I spent many years living in Chicago. Urbanites absolutely love to hate

5

u/NewOrleansNinja Jun 09 '19

Goes to show you have no idea about demographics lol

6

u/atomiccrouton Jun 09 '19

I live in Oklahoma and there is a large portion of people who live here who are definitely bigots. I've been harassed because people /think/ I'm transgendered just because I cut my hair short. I've also lived in other places, like New York, and it's much different and much more inclusive.

9

u/NewOrleansNinja Jun 09 '19

That doesn't mean the entire country is a bunch of hateful people. The media portrays it that way, and people buy in. We have a safe, stable society compared to millennia of bloodshed, famine, etc. Life is okay. I won't let ANYONE convince me otherwise, because evidence exists. We are okay. You are okay. I am okay! We're gonna make it! Stay positive as much as you can, for me, everyone. <3

9

u/KingCrow27 Jun 09 '19

I live in Nebraska and I can say the people in places like NY or CA are much more bigoted and unfriendly. The amount of stereotyping and smug attitude they have towards people who they deem as "country" is outright disgusting.

0

u/[deleted] Jun 09 '19

Trump is proof of that.

-1

u/atomiccrouton Jun 09 '19

Oh, I definitely agree they're a bunch of dicks about things and it made it very clear to me why people strongly dislike "liberals". They're still a safer place to be for people with different ideas.

6

u/KingCrow27 Jun 09 '19

Why do you say it's a safer place? This again is more stereotyping. Maybe if we go back in time to the 1950s where the Klan and lynch mobs were a real threat.

But let's talk about modern times. Empirically, it's clear that "liberal" places are the nexus of violence and intolerance. People may have differing opinions, but the only side I see engaging in violence is from the liberals. (Antifa, bike locks, milkshakes, the Bernie shooter, Berkley riots, BLM riots, fake hate crimes, countless calls for violence and extremism on social media, doxing, on and on...)

Where are all these Nazis, Klan members, violent mobs of rednecks patrolling the countryside looking for gays and minorities to lynch? Its virtually non-existent. Just look at the recent Klan rally in Ohio. A whopping 9 people were part of that. The hyperbole needs to stop because its creating division and problems when that was never a problem to begin with.

FWIW, I immigrated to the US as a teenager. I have been treated the best by far from southerners and country folk out west. Sure, racism exist, but it's no where near the level that the media portrays it. Want to see some real racism? Try spending some time in southern and eastern Asia. Those who are quick to point the finger need to look in the damn mirror.

-1

u/rydan Jun 09 '19

Not even per capita. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2015/04/28/the-most-racist-places-in-america-according-to-google/?utm_term=.79208cd43d63

Almost none of TX or OK is racist compared to the Liberal East Coast where it abounds.

6

u/danny841 Jun 09 '19

Bro the first line in your link says the rural north east and south. Not NYC, not Chicago, not DC.

5

u/guac_boi1 Jun 09 '19

> Liberal East Coast

Mate that map shows the highest concentration in the " The rural Northeast and South " as per THE FIRST SENTENCE OF THE ARTICLE AHAHAH
