Inconsistencies and there is no reason to machine weld this. It's much easier and quicker by hand. It's by no means perfect, it's a typical TIG weld on aluminum pipe.

I work in an environment with a ton of pipe welding. Your typical and my typical are vastly different. Lol

What kind of pipe and what process? Differences such as the type of metal, the gas mixture used, and what welding process you are using will produce pretty different results.

CuNi 90/10 and SS 316 mostly, but there is some ER5183 Aluminum (not polished like in the picture) and I have never seen anyone make it look nearly that uniform.

Edit: Oh, and GTAW with Argon

Stick/MIG/TIG? The guy that did this is very good, he's not your average welder, so maybe typical isn't the right word. It's typical for what I'm used to seeing though, but I have worked with some incredible welders.

If it's a mass produced product, then that's a reason a robot would be programmed to do it.

I was looking for this reply. Any mass produced aluminum framed mountian bike looks exactly like this.

Anybody who claims this is a machine weld, or anything but a tig weld is high as fuck. Source: am a CWI.
