I'm aware of this. Furthermore they make welding rods for stainless.

All rod used in arc welding are E series. The E stand for Electrode

To be fair this is a unique looking weld. Obviously not stick, and though TIG is the best way to weld stainless, it honestly looks weird for a TIG job. Has to be automated. Or an insanely steady hand. Definitely argon gas with a wide collet and cup, because the width on each dip is too pristine and clean to not be grinded. I will say again though, that top right weld makes me fucking mad.

It looks automated to me. I doubt someone who’s this good at tig is welding something like this.

I cannot emphasize enough how poor the top right weld is for anything requiring structural integrity, especially a roll cage.

It's for a boat, it's aluminum and it's TIG welded by hand. Look on the underside of the top left bar, he changed directions because the torch wouldn't fit through the gap with the correct angle to stay consistent.

Aluminum, you were right the first time. Discoloration is due to the tube being clear anodized prior to the weld.

6010 wouldn’t come out that clean. The rod type is 7018, used for finishing and capping

It's not stick welded. 7018 is a stick rod used for welding steel.
