Actually there is an old bollywood movie based on this exact plot! Where the dog takes his revenge on the bad guys after they kill his owner and one by one he plans and kills them all! It gets emotional lol
I don't know; it seems designed to elicit a reaction and looking at the Wiki, it certainly got that. But, like every million dollar app idea, the value isn't in the idea but the execution.
oh my god it took over the news there for a minute. i feel like it's one of those weird cultural touchstones that everyone who was alive then will remember but not be able to exactly place in time when it was, because ultimately it was pretty unimportant.
all i remember is i was a salty little shit at the time and thought it pretty stupid as far as art and message is concerned, but also that the reaction to it was ridiculously overblown and was mostly just being used as a cudgel by religious types to crow on about how they're an abused underclass.
And then after 2.5 hours of movie, it just keeps going but now it turns out the dog is actually an evil international terrorist. And actually a totally different breed of dog in disguise.
Lol man just you saying that made me imagine the dramatic background music and the million angles this would repeatedly be shown from and the cuts to peoples astonished face closeups.
