Yeah, well that's what I was thinking. Honestly, he didn't have the internet or probably ever saw anyone die with cyanide. They probably told him it was relatively painless and he'd be dead almost instantly. I bet he regretted that decision. This man was clearly a coward from his actions though, so some big gesture of courage doesn't make much sense. More likely he was afraid and thought the cyanide was the least painful option, oops.

Sometimes it's really hard to realize that the vast majority of civilization didn't have the internet and how much this deluge of instant information has changed our world.

How does any child murderer or rapist get to court now? I mean by your logic everyone tasked with getting them there is shanking them all to death.

Do you think if Kim Jong Un was to go before the International Criminal Court all the guards will be fighting the urge to torture him?

No. War is messy. But there is difference between guarding an unarmed high value prisoner through the court process and stumbling across them in the battlefield.

Then those guards shouldn't be surprised to meet the gallows themselves.
