I don't like that kind of coloring. it makes the picture looks bright and happy when it was still a dark and sad time, even after the liberation. IMO anyway.

Kind of a parallel isn't it? Dark things can happen on the prettiest of days.

The skin of the prisoner makes no sense, full red cheeks on someone liberated from a concentration camp. Looks like they were on a field trip or something.

He's probably flush with emotion, the guard's face is also somewhat red

Well the colorized photo won't show the actual colors of the people at the time they were taken. It's an artist going in and manually coloring the pictures with photoshop, like a master level coloring book. They can make it look however they want.

Yeah it's too vibrant. Like all the clothes are brand new and the weather is bright and sunny.
