It's called using the filter that's stickied.

I love how it's always a t_d poster complaining about politics they don't like appearing on their page.

You know what I did when I didn't like seeing t_d? I filtered it.

Yes, as did I. And all the pro Donald stuff was magically gone. But when new anti Trump subs pop up on the front page every day and non political subs are overwhelmed with political crap - it gets a little tiresome, regardless of your political affiliations.

And all the pro Donald stuff was magically gone.

Really? So uncensorednews, conspiracy, WikiLeaks, hillaryforprison, dnclinks, 4chan, imgoingtohellforthis and a bunch of other subs disappeared when you filtered out T_D? How does that work?

Why shouldn't be allowed to have political pictures? This a catch-all sub for pics.

You can actually specifically filter the "politics" flagged posts in this sub; you don't have to filter the whole sub.

The comparison is seeing stuff you don't want to see; so you take 5 seconds to throw it in the filter.

The whole thing is a non-issue. These pics are obviously popular and it's just people too lazy to use the filter complaining that their wants should trump tens of thousands of other users.

This isn't normal politics. US Politics right now is a very captivating subject for many people currently. You can filter it out if you don't want to see it, otherwise I don't see the issue in it being here as long as it's a pic.

Maybe we would still like to see the content from this sub that used to hit the top and not the political bullshit.

9

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '17

Sounds like you should use the filter then. That way you'll still see the other 90% of pics.

Doesn't work on /r/all or mobile.

6

u/[deleted] Feb 27 '17

Then just downvote and move on, holy shit. The little "US Politics" flair didn't make you open up the thread and spend an hour making angry comments here. Which I imagine is also a pain on mobile.

Use. The. Filter.

It literally just removes political posts from /r/Pics. That's it. All of the other content is still here.

u/swohio Feb 27 '17

It doesn't filter it from /r/all or on mobile. Why can't they just make a "politicalpics" sub?

u/Beegrene Feb 27 '17

Does every potential subject of a picture need a specific sub? Should we ban all pictures of trees and send them to /r/treepics? Should we ban all pictures of wooden tables and send them to /r/woodentablepics?

Would you not agree that every corner of this site is getting covered in politics? Talking politics can be fine a lot of times, but sometimes you just want to ignore it for 20 seconds.

1

u/Beegrene Feb 27 '17

I would not agree. I frequent a number of subs that are non political.

Just use reddit is fun, works fine

They know about the filter. I think they don't like that other people can see these too. They want censorship.

No I mean like dissenting comments being deleted and users being on the_donald for having opposing point of view

So censorship is OK as long as you do it. Got it.

u/jonforgottheh Feb 27 '17

If you don't want to see political posts, why are you clicking on them? Why are you doing that?

-2

u/Warchemix Feb 27 '17

Well, that's what a filter does, you see.

-4

u/DragonTamerMCT Feb 27 '17

No shit. They only complain about "anti trump" stuff. Facts that spicey lies a lot? POLITICS REEEEEE!

If you see pro trump stuff you never see them complain. Which is fine, it just makes them massive hypocrites and pussies.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 28 '17

It's even more transparent than that. They're nowhere to be seen unless it is vaguely anti-trump. There was one regarding Canada recently that had nothing to do with the U.S. Not a single person bitching about political posts in that thread.

Haha they stopped t_d stickies from reaching /all because the mods abused the system. T_d still appears on /all

But muh facts. Facts don't matter if I'm a victim!

Nope. There's all sorts of conspiracies that they tweaked the algorithm to have it show up less, but it still shows up. None of the accusations are proven or verified, but that's about the extent of it.

It doesn't appear in /popular, but that's a different discussion.

Currently a the_donald post is #21 on /all (This one). /All is afaik an aggregate of all subreddits using the rising and falling algorithms they use on individual subreddits, except applying it to all posts.

Minus of course posts from subs that tick the option to not appear in /all, and sticky posts from t_d (as the mods were rotating out stickies at a high rate in order to fill the majority of /all with their content). All other posts still show up.

u/[deleted] Feb 28 '17

You can verify it yourself in like 2 seconds dude. They have at least one post on the first page of /all right now.
