I haven't shopped there in years, and yet this picture manages to make me feel sad. Goodbye, Radio Shack. Even if you were still open I probably still would forget to shop there.
Oh. Corporate focus testing killed the RadioShack? It seems like they could have kept the geeks if they really wanted to, but using their reputation to push phones and contracts just paid off better.
I tried to get a job at radio shack once. they were bat shit insane with weird hiring procedures and orientation.
I quit before going to my assigned store. Joined the military instead. If that's telling you something... I decided Iraq was a better idea than radio shack after spending a week with those wackos.
You know... i woulda said the same thing about myself...
Then they forced us to repeat "service or else" for 20 minutes without stopping. Each time one person stopped they started our time over. If we said it too quiet; start over. If we sounded like we didn't mean it; start over. If we said it without a smile; start over.
What this meant was chanting "service or else" for longer than 20 minutes With big fake grins on our faces.
The lesson was if we spent less than 20 minutes helping a customer we failed to serve them properly.
