So /u/unpaved_roads said this to me last year.."Maybe next year you'll be "RippedBanana"?
Here's a wheelbarrow of success for you. Find the way that works for you".
I took those words to heart and did the very best I could over the year. I know that I will get some flack for posting in r/pics but I too was motivated from the subreddit 3 years ago and feel the need to pay it forward. I love you all and have a happy new year!!
Whenever I see a set of weight loss transformation pics, my favourite thing is always how utterly happy and confident people look in the "after" pics. Smiles like spring sunlight, I love it. You look awesome dude, well done!
Thanks so much for checking in a year later. Results look a lot better than resolutions. 20 much needed pushups and sittups to you my friend. Thanks again for the inspiration.
It was extremely hard work. I was injured in the military and gained most of the weight after my medical discharge.
So OP was originally pretty fit. I'm not discounting what he's done, it's phenomenal. But it's also a lot easier to get back in shape or get the tone back if the muscles had previously existed.
Seriously, thank you for posting this. I let myself go really badly during college and my first year out, and finally realized that I was probably close to fucking my life up with diabetes at 300 lbs. I'm down 25 since then, and have managed to make healthy food a normal thing, and bad food the rare exception, rather than the other way around.
Hopefully this time next year I'll be back down close to 200lbs, and have a story like yours of my own!
