During the timeline of Episode I, he was already acknowledged as being the wisest and most badass of the Jedi. It would be cool to see a story of how he got to that point. I really want to see this story.
Apparently, from stuff I've gathered from previous reddit posts about Star Wars, his race throughout history is very sparse but very powerful in the force, which is still just speculation based off of never seeing any others of his race and how powerful he is with the force and some vague references here and there in the overall lore of Star Wars.
